Wherever standardised transports are carried out within the logistics environment, processes can be automated using AGVs without compromising flexibility and space utilisation with a fixed conveying system. Additionally, users will also benefit from reduced

provides solutions from various types of storage systems to picking systems.
The AGV Weasel® is used for the smallest transport units such as totes and cartons
or in confined spaces. Larger AGVs with fork lifts or conveyor elements for pallets and
roll containers provide greater flexibility regarding transport, storage and order picking
tasks. These scalable automated solutions with autonomous transport systems bridge
the gap between fork-lift transportation and classic handling and conveying systems.
From fleet controllers for classic transportation tasks, decentralised on-board computers to swarm intelligent technologies, SSI Schaefer offers the entire range of services.

Advantages of AGVs:
SSI Schaefer completes its AGV product portfolio with a controlling interest in the
Belgium-based MoTuM NV alongside other strategic cooperations. This has resulted in
expanded automated picking with AGV products using swarm intelligence and decentralised control technology. With this approach, individual transportation systems can
be combined into a smart integral operating system via reciprocal communication.

Instead of continuous communication with a higher-level central control unit, the
transportation vehicles operate autonomously. The AGVs autonomously self-organise
amongst themselves regarding availability, optimum route and order prioritisation.
