 KSB keeps its transporting systems up-to-date :
– Various upgrades of AGV and
Pneumatic Tube System (PTS)
– New control command for a competitor‘s conveyor system are
supplied by Swisslog

 KSB calls it MBF „Mittel Behälter Förderanlage“
 1978: first Swisslog AGV (under former company name
Digitron) was installed in the new building of KSB
 1999: Digitron AGV replaced by Swisslog LamCar AGV
 Components of the system:
- 6 vehicles
- 6 elevators
- 30 destinations
- 26 meal containers
- 130 laundry containers
- 6 waste containers
- vehicle payload capacity 250 kg

- transport time from kitchen to ward: 2 - 4 minutes

 The PTS for the transport of blood samples and specimens at
KSB was supplied by Siemens in the 1980‘s
 After the PTS section changed from Siemens to Swisslog, the
Siemens system was transformed into Swisslog TranspoNet
in 2004
 Components of the single-line system:
- 9 stations
- 3 diverters
- 300 m installed tubes
- diameter 100 mm, bend radius 800 mm
- carrier load capacity up to 1 kg
- speed 4m/s
