The event brings key accounts and partners from around the world to discuss, debate and ® exchange information on important themes within FSC and in forestry. ‘In Good Company’ 2012 will take place in Porto Seguro, Arraial D’Ajuda, located in the southeast of Bahia State, Brazil. Why Porto Seguro / Arraial D’Ajuda will host ‘In Good Company’ 2012 On 22 April 1500, Portuguese navigators seeking a safe haven to moor 13 vessels on their way to India, sighted a rounded hill, Monte Pascoal, in the southeast of Bahia State, in a municipality today called Porto Seguro. It is a tourism based economy and a city with beautiful beaches such as Trancoso and Arraial D’Ajuda, and is an important Mata Atlântica Forest. historic and natural Brazilian patrimony: the remaining The region is characterized by different Environmental Protection Areas (APA’s), Private Reserves of Natural Patrimony (RPPNs) and Ecological Parks, which are a part of the conservation of flora and fauna in the far south of Bahia.
