Wendling Quarries provides necessary aggregate to it’s business neighbors and the public. Aggregate Mining is a diverse process which involves several arenas of teamwork. Wendling Quarries employs up to 200 highly 1.71 Million lbs. Stone, Sand & Gravel trained people throughout Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. Regulations and Limitations Our Blasting Operations are Stringently regulated under several states’ enforcement realms. • • Iowa – State of Iowa’s Fire Marshall Illinois – Department of Natural Resources Great considerations for the protection of our surroundings and neighbors are taken in the planning of each Blasting Layout. Maximum allowable vibration in inches per second, and air blast at given distances from the blast location. Seismographs are set up at a key location surrounding the Quarry prior to Blasting Occurring. Tolerances are strictly enforced per state code.
