DEAVEL, PH.D., the 2013 Novak Award winner, will present his new academic paper and receive the $10,000 prize at the 13th Annual Calihan Lecture. David Deavel a Fellow of the Center for Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas, as well as an associate editor of Logos: A Journal of Catholic Thought and Culture and a contributing editor for Gilbert Magazine. THE NOVAK AWARD is made possible by the generosity of Joseph L. Calihan and family and is named in honor of the religious philosopher Michael Novak. It is given annually by the Acton Institute to a scholar who has conducted promising new research into the interrelation of religion and economic liberty.
