We are so excited to bring our educational road show to your school. I
Wish…Wishing Tales From Around the World journeys through three
magical stories from around the world. In “The Wishing Fish”, a tale from
China, students meet a magical golden carp. While in “The Ridiculous
Wishes”, a tale from Hungary, they are introduced to a comical and
foolish man and his wife. Finally students meet an unappreciative
workman in “The Stonecutter”, a tale from India. Through the use of
colorful characters, delightful music and puppetry, students will learn the
valuable lesson of being careful of what you wish for.
This packet contains activities that you may share with your students in
the classroom to enrich their experience of our play. There is also an
evaluation form for you and your staff to complete to provide us with
valuable feedback of our programs.

Synopsis
Students will journey through three magical stories from around the world.
In “The Wishing Fish”, a tale from China, students meet a sweet kind girl,
Yen Shen who lives with her mean step-mother.
Yen Shen’s dearest
friend is a beautiful magical golden carp who helps her wish to come
true.
The students will then travel through the Hungarian tale “The
Ridiculous Wishes”, where they are introduced to a comical and foolish
man and his wife who are given three wishes. Finally students meet an
unappreciative workman in “The Stonecutter”, a tale from India. The
stonecutter meets a mountain spirit who shows him that you should be
happy being you. Through the use of colorful characters, delightful music
and puppetry, students will learn the valuable lesson of being careful what
you wish for.
