Objectives
Concept
The experience gained through numerous bilateral collaborations between EU and Japanese entities make it
evident that both Europe and Japan have a lot to gain
from working together and combining expertise in
Aviation related research activities.
SUNJET II, brings together diverse stakeholders from
Europe and Japan and aims to create roadmaps in the
fields of Airframe, Engine, Systems and Equipment
with the support of the Industry, R&T Institutions,
Academia and Clusters Communities.

The SUNJET II Forum objectives are twofold: During
the first part, the forum aims to clearly demonstrate
the benefits of working together through a number
of presentations of successful EU-Japan common
research activities.
This will be followed by a series of presentations
aiming to present to the participants the currently
available opportunities, as well as some practical
advice on how to efficiently engage in common activities.
Within the framework of the SUNJET II Forum during the ILA-Berlin Airshow, a B2B
meeting session is organized on the 2nd of June 2016 from 15:00 to 17:30, in order to
promote the generation of strategic alliances in the field of aviation. Japanese and
European counterparts will have the opportunity to meet during the B2B session and
discuss concrete cooperation projects and the technological roadmaps proposed by the
SUNJET II project.
The objective of the B2B session is to create a discussion forum to facilitate the exchange
of knowledge, matchmaking and networking among European and Japanese
stakeholders, providing a layout for future projects and collaborations.

• SUNJET II is coordinated by Airbus Group SAS (AGI-F) and its Consortium brings together 6 more partners: Aerospace Valley, BAE Systems (Operations) Ltd (BAES), Deutsches Zentrum Fuer Luft - Und Raumfahrt EV
(DLR), EASN Technology Innovation Services (EASN-TIS), Stichting Nationaal Lucht - En Ruimtevaartlaboratorium (NLR), Office National d’Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA).
• The consortium is working in close cooperation and supported by Japanese mirror organizations, including the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies (SJAC), the Japan Aircraft Development Corporation (JADC), the
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the University of Tokyo and Chubu Aerospace Industry and Technology Center (C-ASTEC).
