process as easy as possible.
Our guide is packed full of independent & honest information that we’ve gained over the past 100
years of being in the industry.
Buying a holiday home is a fantastic way to spend time with family and friends, giving you the
choice and freedom to holiday in a place that you enjoy at a time that suits you.

Step One . . .
Choose a region
Making the lifestyle change to incorporate a holiday home into your
busy lives can be very daunting but equally enjoyable and exciting.
At this stage it is very important to choose which region of the
South West you would like to make your continued holiday
destination.
Think about how far you are prepared to travel and what key
factors you are looking for in the area itself.
Step Two . . .
Choose your park
Once you have chosen your preferred region, you will need to
consider what facilities you will require from your park. Are you
looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful, a retreat from everyday
life or somewhere that caters for families who are looking for fun
and freedom?
Surf Bay Leisure has a close relationship with all of the parks in our
guide and can provide you with information on each parks facilities
and availability.
Armed with this knowledge we recommend that you make a
shortlist of the parks that meet your requirements. We can then
organise for you to visit these parks in person to decide which one
suits you best.
Step Three . . .
Choose your pitch
Now you have chosen your ideal park, it’s time to decide where you
want to site your caravan holiday home or lodge, visit each pitch to
sample the surroundings and view that you will have. Confirm and
discuss the following:
• Site rental/annual costs
• Pitch size restrictions
• Caravan specification restrictions
• License Agreement & site rules
• Park opening times & facilities
• Subletting & selling

Step Four . . . Choose your holiday home
This is the most enjoyable part of the process! Now you have
spoken to your chosen park and have all your pitch and holiday
park information, you can go ahead and choose your own holiday
home.
All of our staff are fully trained and conversant with the holiday
home buying process. We recognise that this is an important
investment and decision for anyone to make and that’s why we
offer impartial advice and guidance to ensure that you find the
perfect holiday home.
At this stage there are a number of questions to bear in mind:
• Who will be using the holiday home?
• What size will you need?
• How many bedrooms will you require?
• Are there any essential features that you will require
such as an en-suite bathroom, free standing furniture,
double glazing or central heating?
• Where do the windows need to be for you to take
advantage of that fantastic view?
With all of these things in mind, the next thing to do is come and
visit us at one of our three Sales Centres in Devon, Dorset or
Somerset and let us help you find your dream holiday home.
Step Five . . .
Place your order
Now that you have found your park and chosen your perfect
holiday home, you will need to discuss a total price (including
siting, connection & delivery) with the park owner who can then
place your order!
All payments for your order will be made direct to the park
(payment options are available) who will also arrange delivery,
siting & connection for you.
As soon as this is complete, that’s it! Your fully furnished holiday
home will be ready for you to move into so you’re able to escape
from it all, to a place you love for many years to come.

A delightful mix of scenery, rolling countryside with small fields
and hedgerows, villages with thatched cottages, churches on
hilltops. Majestic rivers such as the Taw, Torridge and Exe,
winding through wooded valleys full of wildlife, leading out to
sea.
Whether you are looking for family holidays, somewhere quiet to
relax, or romantic weekends away, Devon has something for
everyone.
The rural idyl of south-east Devon with its red soil, rolling hills and
picture postcard fishing towns such as Totnes, Salcombe and
Dartmouth with its 16th century merchant houses. A landscape of
farms and valley’s dotted with quaint old villages with their traditional
pubs and inns.
Another region worth a visit is North Devon, a popular family holiday
location owing largely to its glorious coastline. A cluster of seaside
and beach towns stretching from Clovelly with its picturesque
cobbled streets & harbour to Port towns such as Bideford, with its
white houses and tree lined quay to Westward Ho!, Croyde &
Woolacombe and then Lynton where Exmoor meets the sea, provide
both great scenery and some of Britain’s best surfing on blue flag
beaches.
Then there are the moors –This is the largest open space in southern
England with its romantic beauty that is home to the Dartmoor &
Exmoor ponies. Heather strewn moorland and broken, granite tors
help to make the moors one of the most undiscovered places in
England.
But there is more to Devon than the rural Devonshire of holiday
brochures. The county's two cities of Plymouth and Exeter are as rich
in history as most in England and both retain certain treasures such
as Exeter's Norman Cathedral and Plymouth's waterfront. Explore
castles, gardens and Houses and what about the 180 miles of the
Tarka Trail where you can walk or cycle till your hearts content?
All of these features make Devon a popular holiday destination and
the perfect place to own your own holiday home that you can escape
to when you want to get away from it all.

Cornwall’s unique culture, spectacular landscape, mild climate
and not to mention being one of the sunniest areas in the UK,
have long made this one of the most popular UK holiday
destinations.
There are lots of things Cornwall is well loved for; the dramatic
coastline with its captivating fishing harbours, the spectacular
beaches and the pounding surf that provide a natural playground for
a variety of water sports, and then of course who can forget famous
Cornish pasties and luscious cream teas?
Cornwall’s beaches are unrivalled elsewhere in Britain for their
beauty and variety. Beach towns such as Perranporth, Polzeath and
Newquay are perhaps the best known and are also excellent surfing
beaches offering some of the best surf in the UK.
Also on the coast are some of the Duchy's most enchanting fishing
villages and harbours; Looe, Portloe, Mevagissey, Tintagel,
Cadgwith, Zennor and Mousehole are but a few. It's not just the
villages that have something to offer those sightseeing, the towns
(and city!) of Cornwall are rich in history and attractions of their own.
Take Padstow with its picturesque harbour and Rick Stein’s
restaurant, Falmouth - a working port and charming shopping town.
Then there is Truro, the only city in Cornwall where the cathedral still
dominates the skyline.
Redruth offers plenty of history and is ideally situated for visits to both
the North & South coasts.
Penzance is one of the largest towns in Cornwall and has plenty to
do and see. From the sub-tropical Morrab Gardens to the bustling
fishing port of Newlyn, you should find something of interest. It is also
here that you can take a day trip to the Isles of Scilly either by boat
or helicopter, plus it’s within walking distance of Marazion and St
Michaels Mount.
With so many places to visit and so much to see and do, Cornwall is
the perfect place to own your own holiday home.

Is a county of great beauty, a land of contrast and breathtaking
scenery. The coastline stretches across some 140 kilometres
from Lyme Regis in the west to Christchurch in the east, and
offers a selection of some of the finest sandy beaches to be
found in the British Isles.
It is the perfect place to relax & unwind and explore the vast range of
attractions and shops, not forgetting the markets selling fine local
crafts and produce. For the more energetic amongst you, you can
discover the amazing countryside on foot, by bicycle or on
horseback.
Swanage is one of the most frequently visited tourist destinations,
located in the south east of Dorset. It makes the perfect base for
holidays as it is full of beaches, gardens, parks, museums and
castles.
Then there is Bournemouth that buzzes by day and night with
everything from restaurants to live entertainment venues and a whole
programme of events for every age group.
The interesting town of Lyme Regis is situated at the intersection of
Dorset and Devon where the rolling countryside drops into the sea.
