CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL, INDIRAPURAM MONTHLY REPORT, MAY 2016 Students’ Activities Bhaichung Bhutia Football Academy conducted a workshop for the students of classes IV to IX on May 3 & 4. 3 students participated in an Inter School Photography Competition held at Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram on May 14. As part of our Community service programme, 10 students of classes IX-X, ex-students and the Community Service Teachers visited a Girls Orphanage- Kilkari Rainbow Home, near Kashmere Gate from May 23 to June 4. Our students interacted well with the girls and involved them in a variety of activities – cooking, dancing, artwork, etc. Our students also painted their rooms truly representing the spirit of – We Learn to Serve. Students participated in the Inter School IT competition – Unplugged 2016 at Khaitan Public School on May 6. Our school secured the 1st position in Web Weaving, 2nd position in Virtual Canvas and 3rd position in Symposium. We also won the Overall Runner-up Trophy. 4 students participated in the Essay writing competition held at Cambridge Primary School, NFC on May 4. 4 students of class XI & Ms.Parul Dutta attended a Peer Educator Workshop at Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad on May 12 & 13. 20 students of classes XI & XII attended the Annual Seminar on Fashion Technology organised by the AFS Academy for Fashion studies held at Paul Mittal Auditorium, New Delhi on May 14. 1 Monthly Report May 2016 Our school organized a 2-day workshop for the students of classes IX & X on May 18 & 19 conducted by The Hindu. The topics of discussion were Enhancing Academic performance in IX and concept of Empathy in class X. In the Inter House Display competition Nilgiri House bagged the first position in Juniors and Seniors Category while Dhauladhar House got the first position in the Middles Category. 13 students participated in an Inter School Mathematics Competition held at KR Mangalam School on May 13. Students of class Nursery and Prep visited EOD, Indirapuram for a fun filled day from May 9 to 12. 2 Monthly Report May 2016 In the Inter House Kho-Kho competition for classes IV – V, Dhauladhar House won the first position in the girls category while Shivalik House secured the first place in the boys Category. Workshops & Seminars Dr. A. K. Jha and Ms. KavitaDullu attended the Awakened Citizen Program workshop on Value Education conducted by Ramakrishna Mission Ashram. Two teachers attended a presentation on Unexplored Gateways at Cambridge School, Jr. Wing Noida on May 27. 4 teachers attended a Mathematics Workshop conducted by Prof. V.P. Gupta at the ERC on May 30. Ms. Sunita Poddar and Ms. Parul Dutta attended the National Consultation and Update on Implementing the POCSO Act for Schools on May 20 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The Art Department presented a seminar on Exploring Contemporary Indian Art on May 24 at Cambridge School Noida. Dr. Kalyani Roy, Secretary SAE, Mrs. Kalsi, Manager, CSI and teachers from sister schools attended the seminar. The commerce department presented a seminar on All that Glitters is not Gold - ethical advertising on May 26. The School Manager, Mrs. Kalsi and 80 teachers from our school and sister schools attended the seminar. The principal, 3 staff members and 6 students went for an educational trip to Gazar and Bhimtal. 3 Monthly Report May 2016 Dance Day Celebrations As a part of the ISA Project, ’Tap Your Toes’, which aimed at showcasing the dances of different countries,. International Dance Day was celebrated on May 18. The main presentation was the performance of the epic ‘Ramayana’ in the Malaysian, Indonesian, Sri Lankan and Indian styles. Various other international dances on the theme of world peace were also presented by the students of classes VI to XI. Board Results: Our School obtained 100% results in the class X examination 2016. 44 students secured perfect 10 CGPA in 2015-16 as compared to 28 students in 2015-16. The school average increased from 8.6 in 2014-15 to 8.9 in 2015-16. Our school obtained 100% results in class XII CBSE Examination. VidhiManchanda secured 100 in Sociology.
