This group exhibition shows the work of the artists, who all have a different view on how they express their creativity in vase objects. Hanneke Fokkelman cuts the surface of the vase to make an Warp XVII intricate forms that refers to the underwater world with corals, sponges and other forms. Mieke Groot also manipulates the surface in her work. She applies different forms of texture by the use of enamel, which contrasts with the other parts of the vase. She uses different colors and surfaces to get a specific texture. Susan Hammond constructs her vases as 3-dimensional objects that are inspired by the city and the landscape . The monochrome objects get their different shades through the variation in thickness and construction of the glass. The vases of Camille Jacobs are made by a silkscreen method on floated glass. She applies primary colors to large areas of the glass with blurring of the edges with a variation in figuration. Warp XVIII Anu Penttinen gets her inspiration in the man-made environment with its signs, traffic, lights, noise and street maps, and in indigenous and aboriginal art & crafts to construct her colorful vases. Bibi Smit’s vases defy the concept of the rigid vase by giving them a flow-like appearance, referring to the movement of water. Liam Reeves is influenced by technology and translates this in vases with the spiral geometry of the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci Series . Warp/Fade 007 The exhibition runs from 08.03.2015 until 07.06.2015 and is open on weekends between 14:00-16:00 hours or after appointment (++32((0)494285894). A vase is a vase is a vase?
