Create an enviable and unique collection
A market-beating performance - Had
you invested in the 100 best-performing
whiskies in 2008, you would have received
a 163% return in 2011 – truly an enviable
performance.
Rare and very exclusive - The most
expensive whisky today is a 62-year-old
Dalmore single malt, of which only 12
bottles were ever produced. Seven years
ago, one fetched a princely $51,000. In
September 2014, a Chinese businessman
bought another bottle for $195,000, a
staggering 282% increase.
An uncomplicated investment or
indulgence - Unlike wine, once bottled
whisky does not age and no strict storage
conditions are necessary. Over time,
however, the seals on bottles may become
loose which causes the liquid levels in
the bottles to reduce. Store your whisky
collection upright - especially bottles with
high alcohol volumes – and store your
bottles around room temperature or in
an area where temperature levels do not
fluctuate greatly.

Islay
No investment or connoisseur’s collection
is complete without a bottle or two from
an Islay distillery, famous for their distinctive
smoky flavour. We offer you the choice of
Ardbeg and Bowmore.
Ardbeg
Ardbeg was founded by the MacDougall
family in 1815, which makes it the second
oldest distillery on Islay. The area was used by
a gang of smugglers whose activities were
only curtailed when the Excise watchers
seized a large quantity of illicit whisky, a coup
which led to the break-up of the gang and
the start of a legitimate operation.

one of the last whiskies released
before Ardbeg closed for a period.
It is regarded as being one of the
very best Ardbegs ever.
Bowmore
Bowmore - which means
great reef or Sea Rock - is
the oldest legal distillery on
Islay and in fact Scotland.
Founded in 1779, they smoke
their malt in a peat fired kiln in
the same way that they have
done for over 200 years. One
of the few distilleries left with
their own malting floor.

This is a highly regarded 21 year
old, with nuttiness and a touch
of smoke. Very drinkable.

Eastern
Highlands
Glen Garioch
Glen Garioch is one of the oldest
distilleries in Scotland. Established
in 1797 by John Manson it is the
most easterly distillery. The location
is known traditionally as the finest
barley growing area of Scotland.

1968 vintage, bottled at 29 years
old in the old stag livery. Traditional
preparation with non-chill-filtering,
with higher alcohol strength; take a
few drops of good quality water to
release the flavours.
Please note The Glen Garioch box face is
showing signs of ageing. The gold lettering
has faded in some places; again where the
box has been handled to remove and no
doubt admire the contents.
The Isle
of Skye
Talisker
On the shores of Loch Harport, the
village of Carbost is home to Skye’s
only distillery producing wonderfully
powerful and award-winning Island
malt, bottled at above average
strength. Founded by Hugh and
Kenneth MacAskill in 1830 and is
believed to be named after a nearby
farm.

A rare 8 year old Talisker, bottled at
80% proof. Fruity, peaty, intense and
full of flavour.
Please note, the carton is showing signs of
ageing at the corners and where the carton
should be opened, a sign that the previous
owners enjoyed looking at the bottle or were
tempted - unsuccessfully - to drink it.
Speyside
The Macallan of Speyside, simply the Rolls Royce of single malt whiskies.
One of the most popular distilleries in the world, Macallan has arguably built the best reputation
for quality malt whisky. Its bottles are highly sought-after by collectors and can change hands
for thousands of pounds. They can be a wise investment and are tremendous to drink.
