Hi Ms. Bauer, The Cub Scouts from Pack 1144 Den 2 Wolves (Spring Hill 2nd grade) were busy today picking up trash at the school. They did a great job and were very pleased with their work, and wanted you to know in particular. I told them I'd send you word. Attached is a photo of the den and the trash they found. The boys are Artun Duransoy, Evan Dunn, Charlie French, Anish Kohli, Ethan Mendes, and Adler Robinson. Spring Hill kindergartener and honorary Wolf Cub Catherine Dunn also took part in the clean up. Thanks for all the work YOU do teaching the kids at Spring Hill about being good stewards and taking care of the environment. John Dunn GET MOVING ! Fairfax County Public Schools and the Fairfax County Health Department are celebrating National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. This annual recognition serves as a reminder to everyone-physical activity is important, especially for children. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that children (6-17 years) get 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity every day to grow up to a healthy weight. Studies show that active kids do better in school, have fewer absences from school, and feel better about themselves than students who are not active. Encourage your children to get moving by playing sports, taking them to a park, or walking with them around the block after dinner.
