5th Graders:
Don’t Forget to Get Your Tdap
All students in Virginia must receive a booster dose of Tdap
vaccine prior to entering the sixth grade. Please bring your proof
of immunization to the office as soon as possible.
If your child’s birthday falls prior to the end of school, please
make every effort to get the immunization and bring the documentation to our school by June 18th.
If your child’s birthday falls after school is out, but by August
30th, please get the documentation to school by August 30th.
If your child’s birthday falls after August 30th, you must bring
documentation from your child’s doctor stating the date immunization will be given (should be on or soon after 11th birthday.)
Children will not be allowed to attend school without
the proper documents.
Hi Ms. Bauer,
The Cub Scouts from Pack 1144 Den 2 Wolves (Spring Hill 2nd grade) were busy
today picking up trash at the school. They did a great job and were very
pleased with their work, and wanted you to know in particular. I told them
I'd send you word.
Attached is a photo of the den and the trash they found. The boys are Artun
Duransoy, Evan Dunn, Charlie French, Anish Kohli, Ethan Mendes, and Adler
Robinson. Spring Hill kindergartener and honorary Wolf Cub Catherine Dunn also
took part in the clean up.
Thanks for all the work YOU do teaching the kids at Spring Hill about being
good stewards and taking care of the environment.
John Dunn
GET MOVING !
Fairfax County Public
Schools and the Fairfax
County Health Department
are celebrating National
Physical Fitness and Sports
Month. This annual recognition serves as a reminder to
everyone-physical activity is
important, especially for
children. The Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends
that children (6-17 years)
get 60 minutes of moderate
to vigorous activity every
day to grow up to a healthy
weight. Studies show that
active kids do better in
school, have fewer absences from school, and
feel better about themselves than students who
are not active. Encourage
your children to get moving
by playing sports, taking
them to a park, or walking
with them around the block
after dinner. Learn more
about healthy lifestyles by
visiting www.letsmove.gov
and

Parent and community service volunteers are needed to help out with the Fun Run event by

up after the event! We are also offering 8th-grade volunteers community service hours for
their help. The Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM on Sunday, May 19, but we could use help at

the race, we could use your help in the meantime! Please contact Michele Bosch
(mailto:[email protected]) or Jen Brown ([email protected]) if you are
interested in volunteering.
