Firstly I must apologize for not wishing all

CENTRAL WYONG
Razorbacks NEWS
Last weekend we came up against the powerhouse Wyong Roos.
Our Under 19’s started their game with plenty of enthusiasm and and were right
there with Wyong unitil the half time break being down just 12 – 6 at the break.
After half time Wyong scores a few tries to run away with the victory with fitness and
fatigue as well as some injuries and a few players missing getting to us at the back end of the game.
Best for our boys were Caleb (Look at my new Headband) Broeksema 3 points, Mitchell (The Machine)
Leard 2 Points & Gordy (I’m Back) Power.
2nd Grade were simply out played by a much better well drilled Wyong outfit.
1st Grade was a similar affair to that of the 19’s game with our Razorbacks right in their mixing it with
their Wyong counterparts who were full of returning NSW Cup players. It was a great effort to only be
narrowly behind at half time. The 2nd half started strongly as well but the speed of Wyong and the momentum they created wasn’t easy for our boys to stop and Wyong ran in a few late tries to seal the win.
This week won’t be any easier against another front running side in The Entrance. But I’m sure the effort
will be there and with that along
with a solid weeks training a good performance across all grades can

game:
Frames Reserve Grade:
This weeks’ 1st half against Ourimbah saw our boys start the game on fire, with Flacky scoring in the corner
on only our second set and taking an intercept to score off only the 4th. The game then settled down to be a bit
of an arm wrestle with both sides matching each other for tries. Our completion rates again were where they
should be at 82% but our last tackle options were a bit of a problem. Half Time Colts 18 – 8
The first 15minutes of the 2nd half saw Ourimbah take control of the game (through our poor ball control) and
got back to 18 - 16. But with Flacky scoring his Hat Trick in the corner gave the side the momentum in the last
quarter to finish off well with 2more tries.
Tries this week went to Flacky 3, Drummo, Max, Torren and Jesse with Trav kicking 2. Award winners this week: Jarrod Flack 3 points and Players Player, Jesse Jackson 2 points and 1 point to
Jack Courtney.

Rd. 2 – Plateau Trees U/19’s: After a disappointing 1st up loss the Plateau Tree Services U/19’s look forward
to taking on Woy Woy at home today. There was some outstanding efforts last game and none more-so than
fullback Bryce Davey who was well supported by Blake Wiley, Jarrod Hull, Tyler Durbidge & Gus Steele. With a
season ending injury to star forward Damon Brady, Justin Banks re-igniting a hamstring problem, Rhys Sheriff
making a movie and Logan Palmer promoted to 1st grade our RGH Consulting sponsored forward stocks are
boosted with the return of our highly talented SG Ball players Ben Thomas and Jake Hardman. With the 2

The Sharks Under Nineteens recorded a 58 - 6 win over the Panthers after leading 28- 0 at the break.
The Sharks crossed for five tries in either half with Kye Hopwood and Josh Starr both crossing for
doubles and Michael Jones adding nine conversions. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was Josh
Starr who ran and tackled strongly, the two points went to Kye Hopwood who gave great service to his
supports while the one point went to Jarrett Boland who played strongly. The Coaches Award went to
Scott Drinkwater who did a great job steering the side around the paddock.
The Sharks Open Age side was well beaten by the Panthers but with a few new players starting to turn
up will be a different proposition in a couple of weeks. Tom Spackman ran strongly when the Sharks had
possession and was a deserved winner of the Best and Fairest points and Players Player Award, the
two points went to Pat Moran who defended strongly while the one point went to Lincoln Stanley who
tried hard all game. The Coaches Award went to Ryan Merriman who played solidly in his first game of
Rugby League.
The Sharks Ladies League Tag side although beaten 38 - 0 by a strong Berkeley Vale side showed
plenty of fight in the first half to only trail 8 - 0 at the break but again lack of numbers told in the second
half as lack of reserves took its toll. Best for the Sharks was Paige Goodhand who ran strongly and
made some important tags, the two points went to Renee Maher who gave her all while the one point
went to Shannon Higgins who defended strongly. The Players Player went to new recruit Meaghan Higgins who despite being the youngest player on the field gave a gutsy performance. The Coaches Award
went to Brianna Hunter who continues to improve. Good effort ladies.
The Sharks Reserves led 14 - 6 at the break but conceded 24 unanswered points in the second half to
go down 30 - 14. The Sharks were disappointing in the second half making plenty of errors but will be
sure to improve when we can get back on the training paddock. Best for the Sharks was Ari Van Putten
who received the three points, Players Player award and Coaches Award with a sterling display, running
strongly and making plenty of meters, the two points went to Mitch Johnson who was safe at the back,
while the one point went to new recruit Jamie Clark who was solid around the rucks.
The Sharks first grade side again opened with a flourish scoring a point a minute as they leapt to an
18 - 0 lead but some quality defence kept the opposition to just a lone try in the eighty minutes, while a
late try had the Sharks 24 - 6 victors. In the Sharks best display of the year, Brendan Quigg received the
three points and Players Player award with an outstanding display in attack and defence, the two points
went to Chad Sharp who again led the side around the paddock, while the one point went to a workaholic
Shaun Sullivan. The Coaches Award was split between Josh Harman who crossed for a try and kicked
four from four and Darcy Gilchrist who stopped two certain tries with some great defence.

Bunnies NEWS
Finally some sunshine last week for the local derby between the ‘Bunnies and
Roosters’ unfortunately it did not shine for us in the First Grade nor Reserve grade.
We started very early on Mother’s Day by way of setting up the ground in preparation for the game in what was deemed to be the Roosters’ home game, I must applaud the
skeleton crew who once again got the job done and put on the vast array of food and beverages for all
to enjoy and thank all of the Mothers and Daughters for their professionalism throughout the day. It is a
hard task for all concerned so if anyone could lend a hand on home game day please put your hand up
and help out.
Ladies League Tag
This week the girls got the job done in a way that they were not accustomed to by coming from behind to
win convincingly. The girls normally do the little things right early on in the game but last week they may
have been caught up in the local derby hype and lost concentration. Overall it was a good performance
from a very talented team who individually know their role to play to get the job done. The game at half
time was on offer to take for whoever wanted it the most, our girls upped the ante and the opposition was
blown off the park through our girl’s talent and skill.
Reserve Grade
A much better performance from the team last week and there is still room for improvement within the
squad. On numerous occasions the buildup was there but the final decision making left a bit to be desired. The enthusiasm showed at stages of the game was there but lacked consistency for the entire
game. There were some good signs from some individuals during the game but once again it lacked
consistency. Keep working on it guys and you will reap the benefits. Rome was not built in a day!
First Grade
We came into the game with having one draw and one win from as many games after some gritty performances at both away venues only to stumble at the next hurdle.
The team were left at the starting blocks and never recovered from the bad start. In what was a very
lack luster performance by both and a game that never reached the expectations of supporters and the
scoreboard probably said it all. The opposition seemed to want it more than we did and came up with
the two points. We consistently put ourselves under pressure by way of missed tackles, dropped balls,
cheap shots and penalties; we can’t win games if this persists. Knuckle down, train harder, bounce back
this week by plucking the Eagles feathers. Good Luck Guys.

Opens. Toukley 26 – Warriors 6
Finally the guys got to play a game in what has been a frustrating wait for all concerned. Unfortunately the
lack of match practice took its toll but there were plenty of positive signs to show that with some game time and
getting to know each other we will have a good season. Jack Bennett scored our try with Luke Mills converting. Jarrod, Jack and Shaneo all had good games. With the rust out of the way we look forward to improving
week to week.
Thanks, Dilshan.

Bears NEWS
Round 2 - The side to travelled to Berkeley Vale last Sunday for the first game of the year
and with plenty of new players in the squad and limited training the last few weeks the guys
were keen for the match. The boys started well with newcomer Pete smith scoring with his
first touch to take us to a 6 nil lead. With a few classy touches by Rowen Doyle we went into the half time break leading
18-6 . The boys fell away a little in the 2nd half but their defence at key stages was rock solid. The game was iced when
Cheesy ran 80m to score on the bell to give us a 24-14 win. Great win first up and with so many new players we will
only get better. 3pts went to Rowen Doyle who finished the day with a personal tally of 16pts. 2pts and players player
went to Pete Smith who led from the front all game. 1pt went to Matt Dewar who was busy out of dummy half and tireless in defence. Coaches award went to Dave Thom who steered the side around well at half back and had some good
touches. Special mention to our captain Nick Spittles who suffered a compound fracture in his thumb and left the field
in the first few mins. We hope to see you back soon Spitts.
A big thank you to Junior Johnson and the Woy Woy staff who helped us with strapping and first aid on the weekend.
It is a pleasure to be associated with such a great Club in Woy Woy and hopefully it will be a successful year for both
of our clubs.
Round 3 - After a good win first up we hosted Toukley at home. The side was missing our Captain in Nick Spittles but
with such great depth in our squad this year we had the players to step up. We started well and went into the half time
break leading 10-4. The boys fell away a little in the 2nd half and with Toukley taking their chances the game ended in
a 14 all draw. Yet again out defence was spot on and couldn’t fault the guys commitment. 3pts went to Matt Dewar ,
2pts went to Tim Boyd while Craig Starr got the 1pt. Players Player was Nick Corda who was damaging every time he
touched the ball and Sam Corda finished up with the Coaches award after performing well at the back. Best of luck to
Jack Renouf and Rhys Doyle who are heading overseas to live. Both great clubman who will be sorely missed. Hopefully we bounce back with a win against Northern Lakes this week.

R.L.F.C.
Last weekend the CANTON BEACH SPORTS CLUB Toukley Hawks hosted Northern Lakes and came away
with three wins in the lower grades but unfortunately surrendered the Northern Shield after first grade went
down to a committed Warriors outfit. We hope that all the Mums thoroughly enjoyed their Mothers Day and you
got spoilt with love by your families.
CENTRAL COAST 4 x 4 WRECKERS FIRST GRADE: The boys were looking forward to finally getting back on
the paddock after the big wet but were far from their best. Ill disciplined with and without the ball was the best
way to describe us and our attitude was not what it needed to be. Having said that Northern Lakes deserve full
credit for their 30-20 win.
For our boys we hope this is a wake up call. This is a very tight competition and there is little difference between
the top and bottom teams, so we need to have the right attitude week in, week out. The good thing is it is only
early in the season and were still sitting equal third. Let’s get back to our best this week against Berkeley Vale
who have been the benchmark for the last five years and give our supporters a better show at home.
We wish Tommy and Dixie speedy recoveries from what appeared to be serious injuries - get well soon boys!
CDM REINFORCEMENTS Reserve Grade: Wow! What a slick performance. After leading 40-0 at the break we
well and truly had the game in the bag but pleasingly we didn’t take the foot off the pedal. After 80 minutes we
came away 78-0 victors and showed our supporters that the depth in the club is strong and no doubt put some
pressure on the first grade squad. Well done boys keep it up.
JUST CUTS LADIES LEAGUE TAG: Congratulations to all the girls who recorded their first win of the competition by defeating Northern Lakes 22-12. After leading 14-0 at the break the girls did enough in the second half to
get the points and put the icing on the Mothers Day cake! Well done to Trev and all the girls, who are improving
each and every week.
TOUKLEY CARPARK BUTCHERY Open Age: Another congratulations to Gasso and the boys on their first win
of the season. After going close in the opening rounds, the 26-6 victory was a well deserved result. Let’s build
on this boys as we definitely have a team that can be contenders in this competition.
SPONSORS: We would also like to thank all of our generous sponsors including the following;
MAJOR SPONSORS; CANTON BEACH SPORTS CLUB, who are in their fifth year with the mighty Hawks and

Thanks to all and GO THE HAWKS in 2015
