and harvest festivals
Dreaming of Spring on the Alpine pastures or hiking along the pastures on a
section of the brand new Salzburger Almenweg trail? Alternatively, you can
bed down surrounded by the sweet aromas of freshly-cut Alpine hay, attend
mountaintop masses or cheer on local Ranggler wrestlers.
Summer is waning, and harvest time is right around the corner, with one
festival after the other to enjoy. The province of Salzburg and the Salzburger
Sportwelt have no end of surprises in store during this special time of year.
Choose between farmstead festivals and larger market events, watch the
herdsmen bring the animals down from the pastures or treat yourself to
authentic culinary delights straight from the source.

The Griessenkareck mountain is the region’s top sports attraction. It’s also a
hub of sporting action during the summer months when you can hop on the
Flying Mozart en route to kilometres of biking routes. There’s something for
everyone with flowing downhill and freeride routes, and a selection of single
trails, all spiced up with a cool mix of jumps and tables. Downhillers will love
the tree root sections of the Angry Ants trail. And On Air and Symphony offer
wide, perfectly shaped lines with flowing berms. Both beginners and experienced riders are sure to find what they’re looking for in Wagrain Mountain
Bike Park. You can try out and hire equipment at the Bike and Guiding Centre

Flying Mozart mountain bike tour
The tour starts with a leisurely ride aboard the Flying
Mozart cable car to the Mittelstation. Then it is time

MUSEUM IN THE KAPUZINERTURM
The newly refurbished mediaeval Kapuzinerturm brings the Bauernkrieg of
1525/26 to life for visitors in the form of an interactive multimedia exhibition.
The first floor looks at how the farmers lived and what the end of the Middle Ages
meant for the region. The top floor, with ancient roof trusses dating back to 1534,
hosts a special exhibition on the outbreak of the first world war 100 years ago,
