LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
An old adage in the service business is that people buy from someone they know and trust. It’s something
that we think about all the time. We’ve been fortunate in serving the tri-state area for over six decades and
that’s why we’ve made such a broad commitment to you through neighborhood activities that we sponsor.
These include: area baseball leagues, Summer Concert Series, Community Service Days, local YMCAs,
the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Jewish Federation, local churches, L.A. Fitness Centers
and area retirement homes.
We sponsor these organizations and events not because we have to but because we
want to. Many of you have seen Hutchinson trucks rolling through the neighborhoods
making service calls. It is these same technicians and support staff that live in the
neighborhoods we service, with our employees sharing the same parks, schools and
activities that are a part of your everyday lives.

April Showers Might BE Refreshing
but They’re Tough on Those Drains
As we enter into the spring rainy season, don’t neglect the opportunity
to head off a potential watery disaster. Roots are starting to grow and they can
clog the main sewer line. If that happens, the cost is high and the mess is really unpleasant.
Remember, too, that clogged drains, free standing water or sewage can
result in germs that can make you and family members ill. And unlike some
home fixes, where a hammer or pliers are the only tools you need, fixing
drain problems often require specialized tools that only plumbers have and
know how to use.
Your ounce of prevention is an annual or twice yearly “snaking” of the pipes that will leave you
feeling more secure than ever.
And if the drains inside your home seem slower and slower, it’s definitely time to call.
Remember, should you have a drain disaster, Hutchinson is there, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
Our technicians are fully trained and capable of unclogging any drain. Call 800-360-5807 to
schedule an appointment.
4 Easy Ways To Pamper The Earth
Ensuring that your home, inside and out, and your yard is in tiptop shape is the first step in promoting a
Green, Energy Efficient Home. Some great green tips this spring include:
Review Your Roof. Winter weather can leave its damage on your roof. Look for missing, broken or
loose shingles. Be sure to use a sturdy ladder and a pair of binoculars so that you don’t have to
actually climb on the roof.
Get Those Gutters. Spring is the best time to inspect and clean your gutters. Remove all twigs,
leaves and debris that might have accumulated during the winter months. If you don’t, the next
heavy rain could cause water damage.
Check Your Caulking. Winter weather can cause a home to expand or contract. This
is the best time to check the caulking around doors and windows to ensure that you have no
cracks that can allow cold air or water to seep in. Properly applied caulking will solve this problem.
Eyeball Your Furnace Filter. Make sure your furnace filter is clean. If it’s a reusable filter, wash
it with a hose to ensure that it’s really clean. And make sure it’s thoroughly dry before reinsertion. If
it’s a disposable filter, replace it with a new one. A dirty filter is one of the most important and easy to do
maintenance tasks. A dirty filter hinders the efficiency of your heating and cooling system and also leaves
you susceptible to increased energy costs and the possibility of a fire.

Which Way Would You Like to
Save Money This Spring?
What could be better than saving
money, becoming more energy-efficient and
green in your home and getting the best
possible comfort this summer? It’s all possible
through a fantastic combination of federal
government tax credits, state-sponsored
incentives and manufacturer rebates on
energy saving products. For example,
Hutchinson customers within the
tri-state area could save up to
$9,600 through incentive deals.
But it isn’t only about the tax
credit or the rebates. The
savings just keep piling up when
you replace your current air
conditioner with a new highefficiency unit. Some owners have
actually saved up to a hefty 45% on
utility bills!
And here’s the best part. Hutchinson will guide
you through the maze of credits, incentives
and rebates. Just call us at 800-360-5807 or
visit www.hutchbiz.com.
Thank Goodness for
Tankless Water Heaters!
A little secret. Did you know that when you
go on vacation, that little flame remains on,
warming up your traditional gas water heater?
You pay for hot water even when you’re not at
home!
You can have all the hot water you want,
whenever you need it, with up to 40% savings
with a tankless water heater. The flow is
consistent, safe and you can decide what
temperature suits your family.
Tankless water heaters reduce the possibility of
flooding and they emit fewer greenhouse gas
emissions.
Of course, there’s the space savings you get as
that old-fashioned tank “disappears!” But the
dollars savings you get actually continue for a lot
longer. The life expectancy of traditional water
tanks is 10 to 12 years, but a tankless version
should last 20 years. If your tankless water
heater has a .8 energy factor or greater, you
could qualify for an energy saving rebate of up to
$300.
To learn how the benefits of a tankless water
heater can work in your home, call Hutchinson
at 800-360-5807.
