Baby Care
First Choice in the front line on the American market
First Choice, Nuk®’s new bottles line, was launched in the United States in
2007. Referenced with Wal Mart and Target – the US largest mass retail
chains – since early 2007, it is currently in over 5,000 stores. In September,
Baby R Us, the third largest baby specialist chain in the world, has decided
to carry the line as well.
Early next year, the line will be in 6,000
stores, which represent more than 65%
of the market sales of baby care in the
United States.
The products have also been introduced in Canada in October in several
mass market chains.
The line, made up of 9 skus, is made in
Zeven (Germany) at Mapas’s factory.
A strong advertising campaign is planned for 2008 that emphasizes on "Nuk®
nipple system": from breast, to baby
bottle to pacifier.
So far, more than 4 millions First Choice
bottles have been shipped to the US.

Marine Week: Asia's unmissable event
One thousand or so exhibitors pulled in regional and international visitors to
the Marine Week, held in Busan (South Korea) from October 24 to 27. The
Marine Week brings together 3 trade fairs : Naval & Defense for military activities, Sea Port and Kormarine for maritime and port activities.
Continuation on the back
South Korea's main shipyards and their subsidiaries specializing in the supplying of equipment were, of course,
there, but this year the Marine Week also played host to a
large number of European suppliers, including
Hutchinson's Defense and Industry Vibratory Insulation
Division.
It provided the right terrain for increasing the number of
useful contacts and bids. Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI),
the world's leading shipyard showed great interest in elastic supports for propulsion diesel engines.
The Agency for Defense Development, South Korea's equivalent of the Arms Procurement
Agency requested information on how to protect material and equipment on board naval
ships.
South Korea, India and China are major players on a worldwide scale in shipbuilding and
maritime facilities construction: Hutchinson was duty-bound to be present in Asia to serve
and support the strong growth of these markets.

DEFENSE AND INDUSTRY
Vibratory Insulation
2007 Deep Offshore Technology trade show
The Defense and Industry Vibratory Insulation Division took part in the 2007 Deep Offshore
Technology (DOT) trade show in Stavanger (Norway) from October 10-12. Attracting 2,000
visitors and 135 exhibitors from 35 countries, this trade fair is a favorable venue for privileged contacts with offshore professionals. This was a chance for
the Division to strengthen its relations with its historical clients
(Total, Technip, SBM, ExxonMobil, Acergy, etc.), but also to
open new doors onto promising future business possibilities.
The success of this 19th edition has persuaded the organizers
to add a new date to the calendar: DOT 2008 will be held in
Houston, Texas (US) from February 12 to 14. This will be a good
opportunity for Hutchinson considering the opening of its new
office in that very city and its setup in the Gulf of Mexico.

CIVILS: London's new building trade event
Stop-choc participated for the first time in the building industry’s exhibition 2007 CIVILS in
London (England) from November 20 to 22. It was a great get-together of civil engineering
companies, bringing with them large-scale construction projects, as they are especially focused on the 2012 Olympics in London.
Stop-choc took full advantage of this fair to present its vibratory insulation industrial product
range, including the Vibraflot® floating floor suspension.

ECHOES FROM HUTCHINSON WORLDWIDe
HFA finalizes its 5S implementation !
Since March 2005, the Amilly HP Fluid Transfer site has been involved in a voluntary 5S
methodology implementation program, a basic HPS tool.
5S is a participative progress approach, open to everyone, which is based on common sense.
With a simple method, it can be applied in workshops, as well as offices.
On 26 November, for the 20th implementation on the site,
Christian Casse, Research and Development Manager, took
part in this 5S initialization operation, which brought together
about twenty people.
The day’s results were very positive: 111 improvement suggestions, of which 18% were carried out immediately using Kaizen
principles.
Since 2005, HFA has totaled 1,700 improvement suggestions,
representing a real tool for improving working conditions, production methods, product quality and, consequently, client satisfaction.

Mexico: HPS Safety Meeting for the Mexican Factories
The directors as well as the Safety, Environment and Human Resources Managers of all the
Mexican factories (Ensenada, Celaya, Saltillo and Reynosa) came together on October 23 and
24 in Celaya to discuss policy and practices with regard to safety, production management
and human resources. The headquarters’ HSE-DD Division was also there to bring
Hutchinson's general priorities for safety (Safering program) and production management
(HPS program) into contact with the specific nature of the
country.
An exchange of information on human resources management followed on from this first debate. All the participants appreciated the open-minded and very enriching
nature of the discussions, and plans to renew the experience are in the pipeline for February 2008.
