Why Aerometals? More Effective Filtration People often ask us why they need the Aerometals when they already have a particle separator. The heart of the Aerometals system is an active barrier media comprised of a blended fabric, pleated between two layers of epoxy coated wire cloth. The media is used to suspend a specially formulated oil which acts as a tacking agent to trap and hold airborne particles. Quite plainly, separators do not provide complete protection. Although somewhat effective in removing larger particles when dust concentrations are relatively low, standard separators have shown marginal ability to filter medium to small particles of sand and dust.
