The RICHEL Group celebrates 50 years of business
Around 500 people (employees, customers, suppliers, service providers
and others) attended the RICHEL Group’s 50th birthday celebrations.
The day-long celebrations started with a tour of the covered manufacturing
site in Eygalières, which spreads over more than 35,000 sqm (the largest site
in Europe) followed by an afternoon visit to the Calanques coves in Marseille.
HISTORY
OF THE RICHEL GROUP
1964
Pierre RICHEL purchases
an agricultural products business
in Eygalières (Southern France).
1971
Launch of the first range
of RICHEL greenhouses.
1975
Launch of the double inflated
film over continuous vent bay
system.
2000
IPO.
2001
Purchase of MARCHEGAY (glass
greenhouses, garden centres).
2004
Sale of the 1st Venlo
greenhouse project.
2007
Acquisition of DIMAC renamed
RICHEL EQUIPMENTS.
2008
Launch of the 1st 12.80m
bay range made of HTS
(High Tensile Steel).
2011
Transfer of MARCHEGAY.
2014
The Group is 50 years old.

Now the leading European manufacturer of greenhouses,
the RICHEL Group built the foundations for its future strategy
by implementing 5 divisions:
The objective clearly stated by Christian RICHEL (Group CEO) over the course
of these days is to reach a target turnover of €100 M in 2016/2017,
with a share of 20 to 25% for the Venlo division.
The creation in 2013 of a distinct Work department within the Group
will facilitate the carrying out of turnkey projects associating greenhouses
and equipment (RICHEL Equipment providing all services: electricity – heating –
irrigation – greenhouse computer).

Since it was brought to market
5 years ago, the Group
has installed 400 hectares
of its OV90 12.80m bay
model, all over the world.
