A warm welcome to the Utterly Horses
Hullabaloo! This event has been many years on
the drawing board, waiting for the right time to
gallop off the pages of scribbled notes and ideas,
and into reality. It is a definite milestone to be
able to finally welcome you all to this wonderful
event!

Many have asked why the name “Hullabaloo”?.
The definition of Hullabaloo is a clamorous noise,
and in some cases an uproar. The Utterly Horses
Hullabaloo is a celebration of model horses, with many
like minded people coming together with a common
theme, something that can be very powerful in both
noise (listen to the hum in the UH shop) and the
empathy shared by all attendees. The double meaning
for us is that Utterly Horses likes to make waves in the
model horse world, some of which can and do create
a little bit of uproar, in a very good way of course!
So without further ado, we would like to welcome
you to the Utterly Horses Hullabaloo and wear
your UHH badge with pride (found in your goody bag).

Pony Whisperer series of books, holds a creative writing
workshop. A must attend talk!
Live Showing Workshop:
Want to get into live showing? Great! Live Showing is
one of the most enjoyable aspects of the model horse
hobby. Join us in this workshop to learn the basics and
how to get started.
How to Draw Horses Workshop:
Join equine artist Alex Jakob-Whitworth in learning
how to draw horses and turn 3D into 2D! Using Schleich
horses, we will show you how to take a model horse and
draw its likeness of a flat piece of paper.

that Julip is the oldest model horse brand in the world?
Hold a Model Horse Show Talk:
Hosting your own model horse show is easier than you
think. We show you how! After this workshop you will
be able to hold your own little live show at home, and get
all your friends into showing too!
Advanced Painting Demonstration:
It’s all in the details! Join us to learn more about painting
eyes, hooves, dapples and much more on model horses
using acrylic paint.
Saddle Making Workshop:
Join tack makers, Vicki and Alex, in this workshop to
make a basic Traditional Scale Saddle. Using leather, they
will take you through the steps to create a simple saddle
for your Traditional models, complete with handmade
stirrups and leather girth.
Sculpting Workshop:
Official UH Hullabaloo Artist, Kelly Savage, and Breyer
sculptor, Donna Chaney, takes us through how to sculpt
your very own equine themed medallion. Materials and
tools are provided. A very popular workshop for sure!
Late Afternoon Activity:
The fun continues into the late afternoon the highly
anticipated Auction that features the chance to bid for
one-of-a-kind models, with all the proceeds going to
good causes.
Join us for a Quiz night after the auction to meet new
friends and to test your model horse knowledge, with
the winning team bagging model horse goodies!

What’s On Everyday
These activities are on everyday (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), so in addition to the
Workshops, there is plenty of fun and things to get involved with! What will you do first?
Each activity follows the opening times of the UH Hullabaloo Event.
Breyer Stablemate Painting:
Go from Bay to Grey, sorrel to chestnut- the choice is yours!
Have a go at painting your own Breyer Stablemate and meet some
new friends at the same time. All materials are provided.
Plus! If you have a 3 day ticket, you can Paint a Breyer Stablemate
each day and paint your own little model horse herd to take home.
Galloping through History Displays:
Discover more about the history of Breyer and Julip by visiting our
“Galloping through History” showcase. See original 1950’s Breyer
models, from glossies to woodies, decorators to unusual colours and
see how it all began. Learn about the fascinating background of Julip
models too. A rich history that stretches back to 1945 and makes it the
oldest model horse brand in the world!
Competition & Quizzes:
Turn to Page 15 to learn more about our “Create a Scene” competition
which you can bring to the UHH for judging. There are also daily
competitions, featured in the goody bags, and then there is the Quiz
on the Saturday night.
Raffle Models:
Could you be the one to have the lucky ticket that wins the special
run model horse? Each day we will be raffling off a unique model
horse. Turn to page 12 to view our Raffle Models.
“Leave Us a Message” Canvas Signing:
Help us to create an everlasting artwork made by the visitors to the
UH Hullabaloo. Come and sign one of our many canvas’ with your
message, squiggle or little piece of artwork that will grace the walls
of UH HQ. Pictures of the canvas’ will be posted online and will have
its own dedicated page on our website. Help us create some history!
Tour the National Stud:
Not only is there lots of talks and workshops dedicated to the model
horses, there is also the chance to tour the National Stud to meet the
real horses aswell as going behind the scenes and seeing the day to
day running of the farm. The National Stud is the home of British
Thoroughbred racing and has many residents, many of which
are ex-racehorses.
