Installing the beneficial technology offers an energy saving product to house builders who face escalating environmental challenges. Barratt Homes, amongst the UK’s Top 3 house builders, was one of the first developers to benefit from SMART meter installation on GTC’s independent utility network at Dukes Park. Nestled between the market town of Bilston and Ocker Hill, Dukes Park is a development providing homes to first time buyers and growing families, with excellent local amenities including schools, a leisure centre, shopping facilities and links to the existing nature corridor. GTC is providing a full gas and electric utility infrastructure network for Barratt Homes and is providing added value by installing SMART enabled meters. By taking advantage of GTC’s new product, Barratt Homes benefited with credits towards its Codes for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) target. Offering the house holder a way of being in control of their utility usage, reducing fuel poverty along with the ecological impact on the environment.
