Guys and Dolls Junior is the young performer's version of the Broadway classic! Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this Broadway classic introduces us to colourful characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Times Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the nightclub performer whose chronic cold is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game. Guys and Dolls opened on Broadway on November 24, 1950 and was praised by reviewers as one of the most well constructed book musicals in Broadway history. Guys and Dolls has had several successful Broadway revivals and tours, and is one of the most produced shows worldwide. The Broadway Junior version has the approval of the author’s estate and was first produced in 1998. The Cast … Sky Masterson Sarah Brown Nathan Detroit Miss Adelaide Nicely-Nicely Johnson Benny Southstreet Rusty Charlie Arvide Abernathy Harry the Horse Lieutenant Brannigan Angie the Ox Mimi General Cartwright Big Jule Bartender MC Let's be blunt right from the get-go: Guys and Dolls is not an easy show to put onstage for anyone, let alone a bunch of guys and dolls between the ages of 10 and 18 years. However, as they've proven time and time again over the last three months, these kids aren't just any 10-18-year-olds; they are 48 creative, determined, energetic, spirited, kind-hearted, unique and, yes, extremely talented performers and human beings who have grown as much as the production itself, both onstage and off. So with a bite of a New York "cheeseBOIger" (only the kids will understand that), a spoonful of Mindy's cheesecake (or strudel!), a 50-cent "corffee" to wash it down and a gruff Brooklyn accent to add authenticity, we welcome you to Guys and Dolls Jr from the bottom of our hearts. Enjoy the show... or Big Jule may see you afterwards... Cait & Jack Behind The Scenes ...
