The scholarship will assist with expenses for Summer’s new adventure as she attends the University of Hawaii Manoa this fall. Summer served as a Big Sister at Kekaha Elementary School, where she was instrumental in impacting the lives of keiki for three years! We wish Summer well in her future endeavors! Here’s a photo of Summer and her family on the day she received the great news! Special thanks to all those who donated to this scholarship. http://us10.campaign-archive1.com/?u=2686f0afcaea65946df239a19&id=4a653abdc0 4/9 3/1/2016 September's Big & Little Scoops Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui On Tuesday, September 22, the Maui Afterschool Mentoring Program kicked off our series of volunteer trainings starting with Lahainaluna High School. We are excited to work with our amazing returning Bigs and stoked to have some motivated and engaged volunteers to add to our ohana. In the training we discussed expectations of being a volunteer, child safety and potential signs of child abuse, and how to build relationships with Littles. It was fun, informative, and got everyone in the mentoring spirit! Mahalos On September 24 the Finance Factors Foundation hosted a golf tournament benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, which raised $20,000 to support our mentoring programs!
