President’s Letter
Dear members,
We are coming into our summer season
in Cabo San Lucas, which by the way
is one of my favorite times of the year.
The day can be spent swimming in
the delightful warm bay water and the
evening gazing at the beautiful star filled sky. Cabo at its best!
This has been a very busy year at the resort. The Board of
Directors, Trading Places and the Giddings family have
continued to work tirelessly on all necessary improvements
and enhancements. Mark Giddings along with the onsite
assistance of Daniel Holzkan, manager, Reyna Gerhardus,
assistant manager, and their team have done an
incredible job.
Members are loving the new kitchens, bathrooms, pools and
spas! Not changing Ed Giddings marvelous architectural
concept, we are enhancing “his dream.” We the board, ask
our members to be patient and understanding of the
work necessary.
We are fortunate to have a very dedicated and hard-working
Board of Directors and Legacy Committee. This past year
much time has been spent organizing the improvements
on site.
Our goal is to keep our beautiful resort in pristine condition
and constantly improve maintenance issues. Understanding
the uniqueness of the Giddings’ design and creativity is not
an easy task.
We also work closely with Daniel Holzkan and Reyna
Gerhardus to see that the resort is maintained well and that
the employees of the club feel the sense of responsibility
necessary to achieve our goal.
I would like to thank the industrious staff for their excellent
work ethics and their enthusiasm for Club Cascadas de Baja.
It is always a delight to arrive on Thursday and see familiar
faces and know that we have arrived at “our home away
from home.”
Looking forward to beautiful vacations in the years ahead.
In October we will be celebrating “Thirty Years” together!
Sincerely,
Patricia Giddings, President

RAYÉNARI TREJO
Hi Everyone!
My name is
Rayénari Trejo,
I was born in
Nezahualcoyotl
City, Mexico
state. I was raised
in California´s
beautiful Central
Coast and throughout my life I
have had the opportunity to live
in different parts of México such
as Mexico City, Michoacán, Jalisco
and the beautiful Holbox Island in
the Quintana Roo state. I started
studying mathematics during my
college days, then I moved from
mathematics to music, which is way
more vivid. This is when I started to
work in México City’s tourist area
Coyoacan, taking advantage of my
English which I learned living in the
United States during my early years
of life. Since then, I´ve been working
in the tourist area for 8 years and I
love meeting people from around
the world and learning about
different cultures.
I discovered Cabo San Lucas when I
was on vacation in my early 20’s; it´s
a perfect place to rest and get away
from the stress of the big cities. Three
years ago I decided to move here and
make a living; after spending a year
in different jobs, I discovered Club
Cascadas through a friend of mine.
First time that I went to the Club I
felt a wonderful vibe and, of course,
noted the soaring architectural
artwork by Mr. Giddings. I started
working at the Cascadas Restaurant
as a waiter and then I moved to the
Front Desk Department and I knew
this was the job for me.
Besides working at the Club, I
spend most of my time listening to
music, reading different kinds of
books, exercising or going to a local
restaurant.
It´s an honor for me to be part of
this big family which we call Club
Cascadas de Baja and I hope to be at
your service for many years to come.

MANAGER’S MESSAGE
Dear Friends, time for news again!
Throughout these
past two years
we have worked
enthusiastically
with the
Giddings family
to revitalize several buildings and units.
This is a continuous effort and the 2016
maintenance weeks are no exception as we
continue to embellish the Club and keep
high value on your investment. Once again,
our plan is ambitious and some of the
work will actually begin in July and won’t
finish until October. TPI will be contacting
members that may be affected by any
remodeling beyond the maintenance
weeks period.
I would like to thank you all for your
positive feedback on the comment cards
which have highlighted many of our
services and staff members. Whenever
this happens we share them with each
department making us happy and keeping
us highly motivated to know that the
majority of the members express that we are
on the right path.
Club Cascadas is actively participating with
two Associations to efficiently deal with the
matters that affect our community and the
hospitality industry:
• Colonos del Medano – hotels and
restaurants located in Medano Beach
• Los Cabos Hotel Association –
consolidates hotels and time share resorts
in Cabos
Our restaurant is considered one of the best
in Cabo. In order to achieve excellence,
maintain quality, and keep our prices within
a fair range we need a high volume of
clients. The locals without a doubt, whether
Mexican or American, help us meet our
goals. A year and a half ago the restaurant
received an award which resulted in a paid
trip to Napa Valley for our F&B Manager.
This year, London’s BBC had a program
on Cabo which mentioned the Cascadas
Restaurant as a place that must be visited.
Lastly, I welcome Mauricio Quezada from
TPI as the Director of Resort Operations
for Mexico, who we are working closely
with for the continuous improvement of
Club Cascadas.
I thank the Developer, the Giddings
Family, the Board of Directors, the Legacy
Committee and TPI/VRI for their support
in making all of this possible.
Thank you!
See you in Cabo.

“Cabo Gem”
This is possibly one of the nicest properties
along Medano beach in Cabo. It is a low
density, low rise property done in the style of
Spanish villas. The staff are incredibly friendly
and treat you like family. And if like us, you
go at the same time every year, you will meet
and create a second family.
All the units have kitchens and there is also
an excellent restaurant on the property. The
units are slowly being upgraded using more
luxurious finishing materials. One of my
favorite features about the property is that
the pools and hot tubs are open until 10 pm
each evening. Nothing like a good scotch and
cigar in the hot tub before bedtime!
It’s about a 45 minute walk along the beach
to the marina or a 20 minute walk on the
street. There is also a Walmart nearby easily
accessible by bus and cab for any needed
supplies. There are also many dining options
within walking distance or a short cab ride.
And you are pretty much guaranteed sun
every day that you are in Cabo...no bad days!

Jim and Callie Laporte,
from Monterey, have been
coming to Club Cascadas
for about a decade, and
became members about
two years ago. They love
the culture and the environment offered in
Cabo and have many fond memories here. The
Laporte’s passion remains unique…Mexican
Bobble Head toys!
The Laportes’ purchased their
first bobble heads seven years
ago when Callie noticed a
young boy selling them on
the beach. Since the touching
encounter with the young lad, Jim and Callie
have made it their mission to help other little
niños in Cabo by purchasing more of the
adorable knick knacks from the children. “We
have over 350 at last count,” says Jim.
The Laportes’ have carried the toys or “Our
People” as Callie lovingly labels them, back
The New Photographer
Please welcome
Denise with Personal
Paparatzi as the new
Club Cascadas de
Baja Photographer!
Here is a little bit
about her:
“Love the People, Location and
Attention to Detail”
I first saw Club Cascadas de Baja in the mid
80's when they were building the resort.
There was very little in Cabo San Lucas
back in the day. Designed by Edward Paul
Giddings, I loved the place, but I did not
buy a time share. I've visited the resort many
times over the years, finally buying a time
share in 2014.
“I fell in love with the art of
photography while observing my
father taking various photos of our
experiences many years ago when we
lived in Europe. As we traveled to
different countries and experienced
cultures all over the world, I was able to
admire the beauty of the land, and the
happiness captivated in photos of our
family and friends!
The grounds are well kept. The buildings are
stylish and rustic with beautiful taste. But
best of all is the staff. The resorts takes good
care of the staff. One of the staff members,
Felix, has been on staff as long as I can
remember. Many on the staff have worked at
the resort for over 20 years. They take pride
in providing excellent service and ensuring
that their guests are happy. The restaurant is
not to be missed in the evening.
For over three decades I have been
building my experience as a hobby,
and now am using my expertise in
my business. I love what I do, and
absolutely want to pass my love of
creating keepsakes and memories
beyond my own family and friends.
I love change and things new. It has been
the theme of my life. But my vacations at
Cascadas de Baja is the only one I enjoy
repeating over and over again!
I assure you, with Personal Paparatzi,
you will get a top notch photo
experience and have sentimental
memories to pass on through your
family for generations to come!”

George’s sister, Dorothy and her husband, Pete,

Club Cascadas would like to extend a warm
welcome to some of our newest owners,
George and Nancy Langfield. This fun loving
couple decided to make it official while on
their recent stay here at
Club Cascadas de Baja by
purchasing their villa!
The Langfield’s
decided to buy their
villa now because of
their love of Cabo and
Club Cascadas. They “are hopeful of having
grandchildren someday so that we can host
them ourselves, and of course, our boys are
always game for us to take them on vacation
with us!” George has 7 siblings who may also
accompany them on future vacations. His
younger brother, Paul, was actually married on
the beach front of Club Cascadas last August!

the beach and you will know Callie and Jim
are back!
