Davis Vantage Pro2

Vantage Pro2 offers a professional quality weather station with Davis performance,
accuracy and reliable monitoring with a wide range of options, sensors, and computer
and internet connection. Vantage Pro2 is an excellent choice for farmers, researchers,
education, infrastructure, government authorities, emergency professionals and those
affected by weather conditions. The only weather station in it's class offering sensors
manufactured to a traceable accuracy.
What Parameters are Monitored?
Vantage Pro2 comes complete with an integrated sensor suite that combines rain collector,
temperature and humidity sensors and anemometer in one package. Vantage Pro2 Plus stations
include Solar and UV Sensors. You can customise your wireless Vantage Pro2 by adding specialpurpose temperature, soil moisture and leaf wetness sensors all reporting to the same console.
Wireless Vantage Pro2 sensors transmit every 2.5 seconds and have a signal range of up to 300
metres, further with repeaters, giving you greater flexibility on mounting options.
How do I Install the Sensors?
Installation is simple and can be carried out by almost anyone with a few basic tools. The outdoor
sensor suite and anemometer are supplied with U clamps for a 45mm Ø pole and coach screws for
a post or wall. Larger U clamps can be used up to 65mm Ø. The anemometer is supplied with a
12m cable to plug into the ISS transmitter, although a separate anemometer transmitter is available
for wireless stations. Installation options such as tripods and mounting pole kits are available.
How are the Sensors Powered?
For a wireless station the solar
panel energises the station during
the day and an onboard super
capacitor provides power at night.
A lithium battery provides backup
when needed and needs to be
replaced every two years. For
cabled stations the power is taken
from the mains via the console.

Where do I View Historical Data?
The Vantage Pro2 console can be connected to a PC, Mac or Router / Network point using a Davis
WeatherLink data logger with software. This will collect time stamped data from the console at
intervals from 1 minute to 2 hours. When set at 15 minutes the data logger will store 26 days worth of
data before the memory fills and starts overwriting.
The IP Logger connects your Vantage Pro2 to a network by pushing data to weatherlink.com for you
to view online instantly. The historical data can be downloaded into your local copy of WeatherLink
software either from weatherlink.com or from the logger itself to create graphs and summaries.
What will my Console Show?
The indoor console displays current
barometric pressure, temperature,
humidity, wind speed and direction, and
rainfall. It also gives calculated values such
as wind chill and dew point as well as
forecasting and a current conditions
"ticker". You'll also get weather forecast
icons, moon phase, graphing of weather
trends, alarms and more.
Can I Publish My Live Weather Data to My Own Website?
Yes! The IP Logger automatically publishes to weatherlink.com and you can create an iframe on
your own website. The other loggers have settings in WeatherLink software for ftp.
Weather Display 32 and Weather Display Live can be added to provide the "Wow" factor with
enhanced graphics to attract more viewers to your website.
