Festival Guests and Dance Lovers
The 29th Karmiel Dance Festival, is the annual highlight event for
all lovers of dance in Israel and the world. It is a significant event
for choreographers, folk dancers, professional dancers and the tens
of thousands of people who come to enjoy a unique experience of
color, movement and music.
This year, the 5th President of the State of Israel, Yitzhak Navon z"l, passed away.
Navon, whose creative musical, "Bustan Sfaradi", has become an invaluable asset to
Israeli culture, was a true friend of Karmiel. I had the great privilege of working with
him for three years and every year he was the guest of honor at the festival.
The opening night will mark the life and works of Navon.
The Karmiel Dance Festival has a long-standing policy of opening the door to all
varieties of dancing and providing a stage for dance troupes from Israel and around the
world to show their capability, innovation and creativity in motion, music and style.
We welcome with love all the Festival guests, and applaud the artists, dancers and the
many volunteers that produce the various events of the festival.

The evening is a tribute to fifth president of Israel,
Yitzchak Navon z"l. The show is a journey with stops in
Navon’s life that tell the story of the state of Israel, with
the participation of some 1,500 Israeli folk dancers.
At the end, there will be a spectacular fireworks display.

the Ice Ballet Company of St. Petersburg
returns to the Karmiel Dance Festival with
the famous work - "Cinderella".

classical ballet artists.

The show “Rhythm in Motion” by Sheketak is an energetic, virtuosic, humoristic
multi-media show that combines elements of dance, theatre, live music and video

Misgav Dance Troupes

The Misgav dance troupes, some of the best in the field of Israeli dance,
put on a spectacular and unique show featuring 160 dancers in their best
works.
Misgav’s Representative Troupe, in recent years, won first place in all
categories in the choreography competition of the Karmiel Dance Festival.
They also won the jazz competition.
The show "Heartbeats" will surround you with love. Love between man and
woman, love of nature and love of art in all its forms.

The festival will open with a colorful parade of some 3,000 members of
Israeli Folk Dance troupes and foreign bands and folk dance groups. The
dancers and band members, in their spectacular multi-colored costumes,
finish with dance performances in the stadium.

Shoshana Damari songs performed by artists in collaboration
with Reshet Gimel (radio network) who produces a special
project to mark 10 years of her death. Youth groups will
