The Timer The Timer keeps track of the hours of operation of the hood, so the user will be reminded when to perform a routine saturation test of the optional molecular filter. The default (factory) setting is 60 hours Therefore an alarm will remind the user to check whether the molecular filter still has the capacity to perform efficiently A pre-alarm may be triggered 0 to 10 hours before the Timer warning comes on (based on factory settings). Activation/Deactivation It is possible to activate or deactivate the Timer and the Pre-Alarm. To do this, see the section Navigation in the digital display screen Event Triggering This section provides a detailed description of sound and visual alarms triggered by your hood. Installation Insert the Pressure Meter in the hole located at the top left of the enclosure. Secure it from the rear with the metal flange. Connect the part of the silicone tubing inside the enclosure to the rear of the Pressure Meter. Connect the other part of the silicone tubing behind the command box to the air outlet of the first column. If more than one column, connact the successive parts of silicone tubing to the other columns. Instructions for use Position of the needle when ventilation is turned off. Required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) • • • • Coveralls + shoe covers + hairnet Lab gloves Protective goggles Respirator mask for protection from particles In chronological order and imperatively: 1. The unit’s ventilation must be turned on. 2. Carefully spray a non-flammable Hair lack using cross strokes on the interior surface of the High Efficiency Particulate Air filters H 14 to be performed from inside the enclosure. 3. Drying time should be at least five minutes while fan is operating. 4. Stop and unplug the unit, unplug the power cable(s) from the ventilation housing and remove the tubing used for taking air samples from the ventilation box. 5. Carefully remove the molecular filter(s) (if any) and the ventilation box. 6. Carefully unpack the new High Efficiency Particulate Air filters H 14. Save the plastic film (wrap) and cardboard items for later re-packaging of the used filter. The plastic wrap should be unfolded on a flat surface near the place being serviced. 7. Carefully remove the used High Efficiency Particulate Air filters H 14, by placing the dirty side down on the plastic film. 8. Clean the filter area using laboratory cleaning cloths impregnated with a cleaning liquid (mixture of water and surface active agent). Clean the enclosure in the same manner after fogging it with the cleaner. 9. Pack the used filter along with the cleaning cloths and dirty gloves. Seal the plastic film using a wide adhesive tape to seal hermetically. If the film is damaged, pack in an additional hermetic bag. 10. Pack the sealed filter in the carton box of the new filter and seal with tape. (Dispose of the filter via the appropriate channel as per legal regulations in effect. To find out more about this, do not hesitate to get in touch with your usual contact person.) 11. Install the new High Efficiency Particulate Air filters H 14, the ventilation box, the optional molecular filter (if any) in the ventilation housing. During this step, the components of the column should be checked to verify if they are properly stacked and if the «blades» are properly inserted in the grooves. The overall structure should be perfectly square. 12. Reconnect the various cables and tubing. Turn on the ventilation. 25 User Manual an erlab product To perform these actions, it is strongly recommended that proper equipment be worn to protect the user or service technician: safety glass, top over-garment and gloves. After performing this test and based on its results, you may now record this information by using the menus on the digital screen: - either to enter the parameters for the newly installed filter (menu 1-3-1-1) Test New - or to confirm that the filter was not changed (menu 1-3-2-1) Filter OK Month/Year H:Mn 31 User Manual an erlab product Automatic detection of saturation of the optional molecular filter. The Molecode S The Molecode S automatic detector starts operating when the main switch of your Captair® Flow™ is turned on. It uses a sensor designed to detect a variety of pollutants which, depending on the cell’s parameter settings, will detect saturation of the optional molecular filter. The factory settings are set to detect acetone (code 3500). MODIFYING CELL THRESHOLD SETTINGS To detect a single product: See the threshold values indicated in the following page. To detect multiple products: Contact your distributor to get the threshold value appropriated to your chemical handling. MODIFYING THE MOLECODE™ S SETTINGS’ THRESHOLD You can change the threshold value of the Molecode S detector at any time. parts to open instantly and effortlessly. Acrylic parts: They must be clean; the presence of white marks or streaks indicates a rather intensive use of acid (hydrochloric acid) or products that are manipulated when hot. To ensure transparent sides, the enclosure must be cleaned regularly. - CLEANING THE ENCLOSURE The enclosure must be cleaned on a regular basis. It may be done in several manners. - with soapy water followed by rinsing with clean water and then dried with a soft, non-abrasive paper towel. - or with a PH neutral commercial product followed by drying with soft, nonabrasive paper towel. - or it may be cleaned with a window-washing product Metal parts and worksurface They must be inspected to make sure they are free of rust. Make sure that there is no liquid stagnating in the workspace spill tray. Clean the spill tray when necessary with soapy water followed by rinsing with water and then dried with a soft, non-abrasive paper towel. CLEANING OF STAINLESS STEEL WORKTOP Bleach should not be used. We recommend using ethanol for cleaning the stainless steel worktop. 36 High Efficiency Particulate Air filters H14 filtered enclosure Effective protection products and/or samples an erlab product Operations in an ultra-clean, dust-free environment: - Non-pathogenic cell cultures - In-vitro cultures - Microbiology (Non-pathogenic) Specifications Dimensions (mm) Internal dimensions without work surface External dimensions Ref.
