I am so thankful for the ability to say such a thing. In so many specific ways… …from the various ministries that function so gloriously, …to the stewardship of our wonderful people, …to the heartbeat for ministry that more and more of our folks are discovering, …to the awesome way God is meeting both spiritual and physical needs, …to the lives that are being changed on a daily basis by the teaching and preaching of the Word, …God is revealing Himself to all who will but watch! Speaking of thanksgiving, I know you join me in thanking God for His powerful response to “Raise the Roof!” As you heard God speak about the need, you responded by giving over $100,000 in a period of one week! And, you did that while at the same time INCREASING your regular tithes and offerings!! WOW!!! Folks, in this day of depressed economy that just doesn’t happen! Thank you for hearing your pastor, trusting God, and rising up to meet the need!! Consequently, I am excited about the coming days of ministry and service. This newsletter contains considerable information concerning all we sense God leading us into for the summer. Please take the time to read the articles and promotions so you can be tuned in and totally involved at Trinity this summer. I’m looking forward to walking with you through the coming days of exciting ministry! Pastor Kevin Women on Mission WOM meets the first Wednesday of each month in the Middle School Lunchroom in the Lovett Christian Life Center. We invite all ladies to join us at 5:00 pm. We are excited about our new Shut-In Ministry. Each week our ladies are visiting men and women who are unable to attend church with us on a regular basis and taking a small basket filled with goodies, plants or other items that hopefully will brighten their day and let them know they are missed and loved. English as a Second Language We are so happy to announce that our first group of E.S.L. students will be graduating on June 3rd! We are so proud of the hard work they have put into their studies and the achievements they have accomplished. We have been blessed to have been given the opportunity to make new friends and to share the gospel through teaching the English language! Thank you to all who volunteered in this vital ministry! We will be taking a break during the summer, but will begin new classes on September 9, 2014! For information on how you can become a part of the E.S.L. Ministry, please contact Teresa Stewart, 407-886-2966. Helping Hands A team of 18 men and women traveled to Wellswood Baptist Church (where Jay and Tina are now serving) in Tampa, Florida on March 30th. They spent the next four days hard at work painting the Sanctuary, Bride’s Room, Foyer, Sitting Room, Senior Adult Ladies classroom, Nursery, two Preschool rooms, Pastor’s office and Secretary’s office. They laid tile and laminate flooring, tore out paneling and hung drywall, pressure washed buildings and sidewalks, trimmed overgrown oak trees, took out large palmetto palms and replaced veneer bricks to the exterior of the church building. The team renovated the nursery restroom including lowering the ceiling, installing a pedestal sink and building a step stool for the children to use. CHOOSE SECOND Where did March and April go? Oh my, how time flies, and we are definitely having some fun! On March 15th, we had a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, and it was a slam-dunk! Then, on March 26th we hosted Brock Gill for “Catching Fire,” a night of illusions. We had 272 people in attendance that night and 11 decisions for Christ! Can we get an ‘Amen’ for Jesus up on this page? AMEN! I traveled the state that week with the Florida Baptist State Evangelism Conference, with stops in Daytona, Jacksonville, and Bonifay. What a wonderful week of ministry opportunities to pray and encourage pastors who are struggling, as well as inform many of them about the FL. Baptist Convention`s Super Summer Mission Trip and Camp that are available to our youth around the State this Summer! In April, we unveiled our new student ministry name; shirt, verse, and theme designed and thought out by Taylor Stewart. It is “Choose Second.” We need to choose to live second every day. Meaning, we need to put God first in our life! CHOOSE to be: a SERVANT, an EVANGELIST, COMPASSIONATE, OBEDIENT, a NOTICER, and a DISCIPLE. Our verse is 2 Corinthians 8:5, “And they exceeded our expectations, they gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and by the will of God, also unto us.” On April 4th and 5th we went to Tampa with a group of 35 students and adults for Acquire The Fire`s 27 hour event “Epic Truth”. Can I just share with you that no words can describe how incredible it was to witness our students lifting their hands and voices to the Lord with songs of praise and worship along with 4,000 other students? Just a tiny glimpse of what it will be like when we stand before the throne, surrounded by angels in the glory of His presence lifting our voices to Him. “There is Power in the Name of Jesus… To Break Every Chain, Break Every Chain.” Those are the 12 words we sang for over 25 minutes straight in over an hour of worship where our teens were standing and praising our King. Not one of them complained about it being too long. So now that we have “Caught the Fire”, and “Acquired the Fire,” it was time to… “Ignite the Fire!” On April 13th, our Choose Second Drama Team performed for over 200 people, who made it a priority to come out and support our students. Our students did not disappoint or let them down. It was just the opposite. They blew them away! The program included an amazing presentation of some Old Testament stories as well as a colorful interpretation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jaws were dropping and tears of joy, pride, surrender, and reconciliation were flowing as our students gave glory to our Savior with the message they were portraying. I am honored to serve with such wonderful students who embrace the challenge to work hard to learn about and share The Truth of Life, Jesus. On April 26th we hosted our 14th Memorial Golf Tournament. We had over 70 golfers play and it was a wonderful event. If you would like to support our student ministry and wear one of our new Tshirts, we will gladly order one for you with any donation or a monthly pledge of $5, $10, or $20 dollars. Please check out our new church website to see what is coming up in May and June. Lots of exciting things happening that you won`t want to miss out on! Until next time… Seek Wisdom, Speak Truth, and Share Love. Pastor Mike Trinity Kidz News! We are preparing for the celebration of another wonderful school year.
