First, you should determine what your needs are, such as obtaining a home mortgage, or opening a savings, checking or money market account. Compare the interest rates offered on savings and mortgages at different institutions. Consider whether or not a bank’s locations are convenient and the type of services it offers, such as online banking and ATMs. Determine what fees it charges, and if it offers other types of personal loans, such as car loans.
