GET DIGITAL THURSDAY, MARCH 1 | 1:00-4:00 PM | DT/CL Learn Adobe Photoshop Elements 4, suitable for both Mac and Windows users, as you work on your own photos (bring a thumb drive or camera card with your saved images). Registration is required and limited to 12 participants. Register at any information desk or call 327-8367. PET & WILDLIFE PHOTO CONTEST CONTEST GUIDELINES: Limit of 2 entries per person. Each photo must have your name, phone # and either your pet’s name or a photo title on the back of the photo and be accompanied by a signed entry form (available at the time of photo drop-off). Photos may be either black & white or color; must be no larger than 5” x 7” and must be glossy prints only. Photos will be judged based on subject, originality and creativity. One winner and one honorable mention will be named in each of four categories: Grades K-2; 3-5; 6-8; and 9-12. Entries may be dropped off at the Downtown Youth Desk during Library hours through THURSDAY, MARCH 8 by 9:00 PM. Every photo entered will be displayed in the Downtown Youth Department during the month of March, beginning Friday, March 9. Photos will be returned to participants and can be picked up anytime during the first week of April. Stories will be judged by a panel of published authors. Winners will be announced during the Ann Arbor Book Festival Short Story Contest event, featuring Ron Koertge, author of teen novels. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Grades 6-8, Grades 9-10, Grades 11-12. Submissions will be accepted through MONDAY, MARCH 19.
