The Next 48hOURS • What’s Hot
Judith Sephuma’s ongoing journey brings her to The Lyric
T
he Lyric at Gold Reef City will
be hosting Judith Sephuma
in what promises to be a
spectacular evening of song
on Friday, November 27.
Sephuma first caught the attention
of music lovers with her critically acclaimed debut album, ‘A Cry, A Smile,
A Dance…’ in 2001. She went on to
release six more albums, including
her brand new offering, ‘One Word’.
Amongst the singer’s accolades are
two South African Music Awards (SAMAs), two Metro FM Music Awards
as well as the first prize for Best Jazz
Vocalist at the Old Mutual Jazz Into
The Future competition, which gave
her a first glimpse into stardom.
PETER TROMP caught up with the
songstress on the eve of her big gig.
When did you first discover you had
a gift and when did it occur to you
that you could carve out a career
for yourself in showbiz?
It goes back as far as I can remember. I think I made a decision about
Judith Sephuma
my future path at an early age when
I realized that gift, and I remember
never once being confused.
What do you count among your
most treasured highlights so far in
your career?
I have experienced an amazing journey in my career. Performances are
different every time, and so are my
highlights, from performing for
heads of states - including our own
presidents, to performing at intimate
venues locally and then travelling to
Washington DC and Turkey for some
high profile functions.
What can audiences look forward to
with your show on November 27 at
The Lyric?
I am in love with my new album ‘One
Word’ and I really pray that South
Africa will embrace it and get to hear
it. It’s classy and it’s fun, sexy yet still
matured. (It contains) very beautiful
songs that are easy to remember and
to sing to. So I would say that’s what
people will be getting at the Lyric
Theatre: ‘One Word’ and more...
What’s special about performing in Jozi?
I am loved, I am appreciated and
respected. And more than anything
people know my music and they really enjoy my shows. We always do
our best to give the best in concert.
And I love our venues. We have great
venues in SA.
You have worked with some of the
biggest names in the industry. Who
has left the biggest impression on
you as an artist, and who have you
learnt from the most?
Jimmy Dludlu is one. He’s a hard
worker, a quiet hard worker. And he’s
a great musician. I’ve also learned
from musicians I interact with on a
regular basis. My band is a bunch of
amazing musicians. We connect. We
learn from each other always.
Do you have any vocal heroes that
you look up to, or that has had a
direct influence on your style?
I listen a lot to gospel music. They
might not be my heroes, but they
change lives. They transform lives.
And it is a blessing to be able to do
that.
Last night an album/performance
changed my life...which album/performance?
I am a living testimony and my experiences live, in concert, has had a
great impact on my life.
Finally, what can we look forward
to from you next?
We will be continuing to promote
‘One Word’ and to make sure we
push it as much as we can so that
everyone knows about it. I would
also love to record a gospel album
next year.
* Doors open at 7:30pm for the show,
which is set to start at 8pm.

Travelling & Living with the stars
In this regular column, we chat to
some of SA’s favourite sons and
daughters about their travel experiences and favourite local pastimes
and haunts.
This week we feature king of comedy
STUART TAYLOR, who is back at The
Baxter Theatre in Cape Town in ‘Stuart Taylor’s 2015 in Revue’, in which
the funny man takes a comedic look
back at 2015, along with guests Oscar
Petersen and Mel Jones.
What is your favourite travel destination, and why?
I’m a big fan of any kind of island
getaway. Any place in Thailand is
high up on the list, but my absolute
relaxing holiday was Mauritius. Unlimited Pina Colada’s and 100 different flavours of rum makes for an
unforgettable experience. Wait, it
actually makes for an unmemorable
experience.
What was your first international
trip, and what do you remember
most vividly about the experience?
My first trip abroad was performing at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
I travelled solo and couldn’t believe
that international flights played mov-

ies, which only gets screened at our
cinemas six months later. So I spent
the entire 12 hour flight binge watching blockbuster movies. Needless to
say, I arrived in Heathrow exhausted
and still had to travel to Scotland and
perform within a few hours of landing in Edinburgh. Exhaustion is not
the way to start the biggest arts festival in the world; it’s the way you’re
meant to end it.
What is the first thing you usually do
when you arrive at your destination
and you’re trying to get acclimated?
That depends on the reason for travel.
If it’s for business, I make sure I get
all the devices charging and hooked
up to the Wi-Fi. If it’s for pleasure,
I make sure the devices are out of
power and NOT connected to Wi-Fi.
What for you is usually the best way
to soak up the culture you’re in?
Leaving the hotel and walking
through the back roads. Taking a bus
or train as opposed to a taxi. I enjoy
travelling with the locals to get some
insight into their daily lives.
Flying – love it, or hate it?
It’s a means to an end. I’m not plan-

Describe your ideal night in, and
out.
A great night in, means sitting
around a fire place inside or outdoors, with a glass of whatever, and
watching the flames with your peeps.
A great night out is a live show followed by some Mexican food at San
Julian (Shop 3 & 4, State House
Building, 3 Rose St, Cape Town), and
a jug of Margaritas (followed by an
Uber drive home).

ning on getting a pilot’s licence any
time soon, but it doesn’t freak me out
either. Just slip into a happy place
when the turbulence starts.
What has been your favourite cuisine that you have discovered on
your travels?
Street food in Bangkok is on another
level. I’ve never tasted fresher food.
Health inspectors might lose their
marbles, but if you look past the million health and safety laws of a massive pot of Tom Yum Goon being prepared on a pavement, you won’t find
a better, more cost effective meal.

You’ve got exactly R48 in your wallet. Where do you go for lunch in
Cape Town and Jozi, and what do
you have?
In Jhb - I’d head to the Neighbourgoods market. I’m sure you could
pick up a few little bits and make you
own tapas – two wings, two samoosas and perhaps one rib.
In Cape Town, I’d head to the Baxter theatre. Awesome vegetarian food
and for R48 you could fill your plate
and still have change. You’d also be
right at the box office so you can
get tickets for my new comedy show
‘2015 in Revue’. Don’t worry, the box
What makes life worth living?
Spending time with people you dig.
Doing what you love and doing it
often. Occasionally stepping out of
your comfort zone and discovering
new comforts.

Legendary actress misses the mark with first directed play at the Market
SHOW: NOISE
CAST: NOKUTHULA LEDWABA, THABO RAMETSI, ROWLEN VON GERICKE
DIRECTOR: DOROTHY ANN GOULD
VENUE: BARNEY SIMON THEATRE AT
MARKET THEATRE COMPLEX UNTIL DECEMBER 6
REVIEWER: PETER FELDMAN
R
enowned actress Dorothy
Ann Gould makes her directorial debut with ‘Noise,’ the
first play she has ever directed for the Market Theatre.
And it’s an interesting choice. Gould
saw the play by Alex Jones in 1994 in
London and it left a deep impression.
It was originally set in Birmingham, a
densely populated area where people
were fighting for their little bit of
space.
Gould believed she could retell the
story with local references. She contacted the playwright, it was rewritten and the location is now Hillbrow.
The two key characters, Becky (Nokuthula Ledwaba) and Dan (Thabo
Rametsi), have just moved into a flat
in the suburb. They are young; Becky
is 17 and pregnant and Dan is a year
older and preparing for his first job at
a supermarket.
They are happy in their first flat,
a place they can call “home,” where
they can find peace and quiet. They
are about to have a baby and are optimistic about the future.
Then the noise starts. It is loud,
thundering music that penetrates
their walls and engulfs them. It emanates from the next door flat of their
neighbour, Matt (Rowlen von Gericke), a big, brutal unemployed individual who is quick to anger. He takes
drugs and imbibes quantities of alcohol which only adds to his aggressive
and paranoid state of mind.
When the young couple cannot
take the noise any longer they confront their psychotic neighbour, a
move that very quickly turns violent.
They are frightened for their lives and
don’t know how to handle the unfolding situation.
The production touches lightly on
themes such as drugs, women abuse
and health care, but these are not explored at any level.
Regrettably Dorothy Ann Gould’s
production doesn’t quite hit the
mark; lacking pace and genuine tension, plus an unresolved climax that
is puzzling.
Both Ledwaba and Rometsi produce commanding performances, but
von Gericke’s character is something
of a caricature, an explosive OTT interpretation that fails to strike the
right chord. There is little light and
shade to his characterisation of Matt
and is an unconvincing entity.
Michael Maxwell’s lighting design, Paul Riekert’s sound design
and Nadya Cohen’s imaginative set
depicting a kitchen and bedroom
complement a play that overall could
have been a far more compelling theatrical experience.
* Book at Computicket.
Enchanting family play returns to Sandton
for the festive season
‘The Snow Goose’ is returning to
the Auto & General Theatre on the
Square in Sandton from December
1 to 12 by popular demand, after a
sold our run earlier this year.
The production was developed
from the original Paul Gallico story
by the director, Jenine Collocott, and
the cast, James Cairns and Taryn
Bennett. It is ideal family entertainment in celebration of the start of
the festive season.
A charming multi-tissue play, ‘The
Snow Goose’ celebrates writer Paul
Gallico and 1940s values. An adaption of the famous classic novella,
it plays out on the desolate Essex
marshes and against the background
of the miracle of Dunkirk. A wounded, storm tossed snow goose brings
a young girl, Fritha, and the recluse
Philip Rhayader together in a moving
story about love and courage.
‘The Snow Goose’ is a classic favourite that has captured the hearts
of young and old readers alike over
the past seven decades. It was originally presented at the Kalk Bay Theatre in Cape Town and has been
acclaimed at two seasons of the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.
The production has been brought
to life by the creative team of director
Jenine Collocott (‘Sunday Morning’
and ‘Dirt’) with actors James Cairns
(‘The Three Little Pigs’, ‘Sie Weiss
Alles’, ‘Dirt’) and Taryn Bennett (‘Sie
Weiss Alles’, ‘Kaput’, ‘Frogs’).

PETER FELDMAN’s review of the
play from its previous run in May.
Unusual tale of friendship
engrosses in intimate setting
Paul Gallico’s classic novella, ‘The
Snow Goose,’ is brought vividly to
life with minimalist staging, a range
of masks and two dedicated players
in James Cairns and Taryn Bennett.
Director Jenine Collocott has done
a fine adaptation of the work, using imaginative and creative staging
techniques to bring out the essence
of the story, which is set during
World War II. Evocative music of the
era and skilful lighting, with effective use made of shadow puppets,
help propel a story played out on the
desolate Essex marshes.
Bennett plays a young waif-like

girl, Frith, who rescues a Canadian
Snow Goose after it had been shot
down by hunters. By saving the bird,
Firth comes into contact with a reclusive, hunchback, Philip Rhayader
(Cairns), who mans the lighthouse,
and together they form an unusual
relationship.
The girl manages to bring release
to the man’s inner turmoil and as
their friendship grows she discovers
another side to an individual who
has been shunned by the town folk.
He performs an act of heroism
during the aftermath of the battle of
Dunkirk with his little boat
A fascinating facet of the play is
that director Collocott has chosen to
have her players wear masks to reflect
the various characters which they inhabit and they give life to the characters in voice and movement.
In her programme notes she
states: “My decision to choose masks
as the vehicle to relay this to the audience was fundamental to the way
we pursued the project. Mask has
the ability to transpose emotions
through simple actions and this was
the conceptual key to unlocking the
theatrical impact of the powerful
story.”
This poetic piece is rendered even
more powerful by the two players,
who slip effortlessly in and out of
the various characters, which include
a Post Mistress named Valerie, Frith’s
pragmatic father and Rhayader.
There is wonderful movement
introduced which embellishes the
work, with Frith teaching Rhayader
how to dance in one touching scene.
‘The Snow Goose’ is an appealing, cleverly devised slice of theatre
with both Cairns and Bennett doing
masterly work in creating a bunch of
distinctive characters.
The staging is simple, with coloured crates serving to depict such
diverse props as a post office and a
small sailing vessel.
This engrossing production is ideally suited for the intimate confines
of Daphne Kuhn’s little theatre.

Newly refurbished Gold
Reef City launches
Gold Reef City has been relaunched
following a multi-million rand refurbishment by Tsogo Sun. The glittering launch event that took place
on Thursday, November 19, was attended by Jozi’s most glamorous
celebrities, key media, and leaders of
the gaming and hospitality industry.
The first phase of what will be a R630
million investment by Tsogo Sun into
the refurbishment and expansion of
one of South Africa’s national tourist
treasures has seen the property being elevated to a diverse, world-class
entertainment destination.
“For many South Africans, Gold
Reef City conjures up images of carefree days spent exploring the Victorian buildings and gold mine that provided a perfect blend of educational
and entertainment value. Today,
Gold Reef City is, without doubt, the
premier entertainment destination in
southern Johannesburg,” said City of
Johannesburg Executive Mayor Parks
Tau.
“There is nowhere else in South
Africa, if not the world, where one
can experience a world-class Theme
Park, the historical significance of the
Apartheid Museum, enjoy the thrill
of a casino, an opulent theatre, and
the family-friendly entertainment
value of movies, 10-pin bowling, a
games arcade and a diverse selection
of restaurants,” says Operations Director and Complex General Manager
of Gold Reef City, Mike Page.
Among the additions to the property are several new and upgraded
restaurants, including the stylish
Back o’ the Moon, which has undergone a total revamp and offers accessible upmarket dining. The property now also offers a Vigour & Verve
restaurant, Spur Steak Ranch, Boston
BBQ (family buffet restaurant), Calisto’s Portuguese Restaurant, The
Raj Indian Restaurant, Ocean Basket,
Vida e Café and Col Cacchio Pizzeria
as well as a food court.
In keeping with Tsogo Sun’s philosophy of establishing strategic
partnerships with radio stations and
leveraging the opportunity to bring
Mike Page (Gold Reef City
management) with actress
Lillian Rasebi at the launch
radio alive within Tsogo Sun’s entertainment destinations, a Kaya FM
satellite studio is now also housed in
Gold Reef City.
Young Gold Reef City fans have
not been forgotten, with the addition of a Magic Company twelvelane bowling alley, not to mention
cinemas. One of the most spectacular new additions to Gold Reef
City is Tsogo Sun’s movie franchise,
Movies@ Gold Reef City, featuring
a cinema complex themed as a Victorian train station. Six theatres, offering a total of 1048 seats, four of
which have 3D capability, provide a
variety of cinematic options for Gold
Reef City visitors. The largest theatre
is Platform 2, called Grand Central, which has 322 seats. Platform
3, which seats 84, boasts luxurious
leather seats and a bar, making it an
ideal venue for intimate corporate
functions and exclusive VIP events.
The new Salon Privé features an opulent gaming ambience with its own
private entrances, playing areas, baccarat room, internet and cash desk
facilities, lobby and VIP desk, as well
as an exclusive lounge.

New amped up ‘Bond’ borrows from the past and
lays groundwork for the future
FILM: SPECTRE

BAUTISTA, ANDREW SCOTT
DIRECTOR: SAM MENDES
CLASSIFICATION: 13V
REVIEWER: PETER FELDMAN
I
t’s been almost 10 years since Daniel Craig took over the James Bond
mantle and in four outings he has
grown handsomely into a role vacated by five previous actors. He displays the
character’s no-nonsense masculinity in a
franchise that’s often been referred to as
a cartoon-type spectacle.
‘Spectre’ is the 24th Bond escapade
and though over-plotted and at least 20
minutes too long, it will satisfy James
Bond fans who were disappointed with
his last outing, ‘Skyfall’, in which the unfortunate M (Judi Dench) died.
There are references to Dench (in a tiny
cameo) as Sam Mendes’ production opens
in typical Bond fashion with a spectacular
show of strength at a Day of the Dead
Carnival in Mexico City, where 007 is
hunting M’s murderer.
Bond has gone rogue and has not
been sanctioned by MI6 to undertake this
mission of revenge. While engaged in this
dangerous pursuit, which also involves
some aerial acrobats in a helicopter, he
learns about that nefarious shadow organisation called Spectre - and so triggers
another boisterous adventure.
We witness for the first time the producers’ masterplan, which is not only to
strip down and resurrect the Bond persona for a new era, but to meticulously reintroduce all the elements of his universe.
Before re-emerging here, Spectre (an
Daniel Craig in ‘Spectre’
acronym for “Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and
Extortion”), which plagued Sean Connery’s Bond, had been absent for more
than 40 years, due to copyright issues.
It now re-surfaces in all its glory to test
Bond’s every fibre and the true face of
Spectre’s head, Franz Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz), is revealed, complete with his
fluffy white feline companion.
Although a trifle light in the gadgets
department, this production manages to
return to the traditional Bond complete
with exotic locations, beautiful girls, fast
cars, chases and a classic confrontation
on a train reminiscent of ‘From Russia
With Love’, which pitted Sean Connery
against a blond Robert Shaw.
Another bold move is to transform
Bond from a serial womaniser into more
of a romantic hero and his relationship with Madeleine (Léa Seydoux) has
a depth which has only been seen twice
in the franchise history, and that was ‘On
Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ and ‘Casino
Royale’. It perhaps illustrates that the producers are cognizant of the fact that the
concept of a “love interest” has to evolve.
When the film opens M (Ralph Fiennes) and Moneypenny (Naomi Harris)
are in the office and Q (Ben Whishaw) is
in his lab. A new British intelligence official, C (Andrew Scott, Sherlock’s Moriarty), has deemed M’s group obsolete and
there are plans to merge it.
With this hanging over Bond’s head,
the agent, nevertheless, woos a couple of
women (Monica Bellucci and Seydoux),

Bautista, of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ fame, is another addition to the 007
Rogues Gallery of Henchmen. Although
he’s not as memorable as Oddjob or Jaws,
he cuts his own figure and is a menacing
entity, nevertheless.
The supporting cast, Fiennes, Harris,
Whishaw and Scott, do well in smallish roles, while the striking Bellucci has
impact in her tiny cameo. However it is
Seydoux, who gets intimate with Bond,
who has the lion’s share in the love department.
In terms of its pyrotechnics, fight
scenes, and stunts, ‘Spectre’ is superior to
‘Skyfall’ and fulfils director Sam Mendes
need to provide a more stunning followup. Bond is back – with a bang in what

the story is what attracted Mikati
to the script. “I wanted to explore
and create a world where on the
surface everything looks normal,
but if you look closely everybody
has its flaws,” says the filmmaker.
Fouad wanted to keep it “real
and grounded and the characters
had to feel familiar - the girl next
door, the caring dad and the annoying colleagues. I decided that
since Miranda is the main character and is in 95% of the film, I
needed it to keep a distance with
her. She appears to be someone
who is nice, but you are always
somewhat unsure about her, so
when she finally reveals who she
is and what she is capable of, you
learn to accept it.”
When Rosamund Pike first read
the script, she was initially apprehensive about the tone of the
movie.
However, this is what ultimately
attracted the actress to the story
as it allowed her to explore a sensitive and terrible topic from a
unique perspective. “I really enjoyed playing Miranda as her true
self is hidden throughout the majority of the film underneath her
obsessive-compulsive behaviour,”

in the Edwardian spring of 1914,
with Vera Brittain (Alicia Vikander)
- a youthful feminist, free-minded
and irrepressible - determined to
sit exams for Oxford, against her
conservative parents’ wishes. She
is encouraged and inspired by her
brother and his friends, particularly
the brilliant Roland Leighton (Kit
Harington), who shares her dream
of being a writer.
But her hopes for Oxford with
Roland turn to dust as war is declared, and all the young men enlist; she herself gives up her dream
of writing, and becomes a nurse.
What follows is a story of height-
ened, urgent love between Vera
and Roland - interrupted by the
war, as Vera moves closer and closer to the front, eventually nursing
Germans soldiers, who help her to
recognize the futility of war.
Through Vera the audience sees
youthful love buffeted by fatal
losses and the overpowering tide
of history, as one by one those
closest to her are lost to the war.
Yet Vera’s story is also one of
survival, as she returns from the
war determined to find a new purpose, and to keep faith with those
she has lost, spurring her towards a
powerful act of remembrance.

Everything is coming up Rosé
E
Rosé’s prestige is on the rise again
verything’s coming up Rosé
this summer with the Cape’s
premium Rosé producers
getting together at Rickety Bridge Estate in Franschhoek to
showcase the diversity and versatility
of the wine expression at the Revving
Up Rosé Festival in February 2016.
Few things say summer and romance like a glass of chilled Rosé so
plan now to join the Rosé Renaissance
and head out to Franschhoek on Valentine’s weekend to stop and smell,
and taste, the Rosés, Brosés (Rosés for
the “bros”) Cocktails and Bubblies.
With a recent surge in popularity
around the globe, Rosé is definitely
à la mode. Believed to be the oldest style of wine in the world, rosé
is traditionally dry and crisp, hailing
originally from the Provence region of
France, the mecca of Rosé. However a
profusion of sweeter, less-sophisticated examples around the globe earned
Rosé a less than stellar reputation.
Often referred to as a pink drink
for girls only, Rosé has recently taken
the world by storm and become one
of the fastest growing wine styles on
the market, steered by an increase in
quality, complexity and diversity, and
its unmatched versatility at the table.
What’s not to love about Rosé? Enchanting sippers with its gorgeous
pale pink colour, Rosé inspires laidback happy summer vibes and combines the light, crisp, refreshing nature
of white wine with some of the com-

plex berry flavours and textures of red
wine. To offer even more incentive to
“drink pink” the vast majority of rosé
wines offer good value for the money.
Rosé is also becoming increasingly
popular with men, the Rosé bros,
earning it the Brosé nickname.
So join the Rosé Renaissance and
make sure you don’t miss this opportunity to “Rev up with Rosé” at Rickety Bridge Estate in 2016.
The day will start at 8.30am with
The Rosé Run (5km, 10km or 20km)
and The Rosé MTB Ride (20km, 40km
or 60km). Entry to these events will
include a Festival ticket. Showers will
be provided as well as a Rosé Breakfast of Salmon and Egg Bagels.
(To enter, visit www.webtickets.
co.za, or get your tickets upon arrival.)
Then from 10am until 4pm, there
will be wine tastings, Rosé-friendly
food stalls, pre-booked picnics, and
Paulina’s Restaurant will also be open.
And from 4pm until 6pm: Wine
tasting closes, wine sales continue,
cocktail bar and Paulina’s Restaurant
stay open. Guests will be able to enjoy tapas and live music, going on
throughout the day, and then watch
the sunset with a glass of something
chilled in your hand.
Rosé wine is wonderful to cook with
and makes a delicious summer punch
when mixed with other ingredients.

Pink Lemonade with a kick
Ingredients:
• 250g strawberries
• 1 tbls caster sugar
• Lots of crushed ice
• 500ml lemonade
• 1 bottle well chilled rose
Method:
Slice the strawberries and sprinkle
with caster sugar. Let them rest for
30 minutes in the fridge before using them.
When you are ready to serve, spoon
some strawberries into a tall glass, top
with crushed ice, add a splash of lemonade and top up with chilled rose.
Sit back, sip and enjoy.
Let’s stir it up!
BEAUTY: Beautifully bronzed
arms, legs and face. If you are in a
hurry or have a last-minute occasion to attend, then the instant tan
is the better way to go, as it really is
a quick-fix and fast-drying.
Another one of my favourites is
the Gradual Bronzing Mousse, which
is a lightweight, easy to apply clear
mousse that delivers an even, all over
tan. It gives the body an instant lift
by hiding certain flaws like marks or
uneven complexion. This product really gets a “thumbs up” as it dries in
just three minutes.
If you have the time and if you
are a more “professional” tanner,
then the Tanning Spritzer is the
way to go, as this is a salon-inspired
formula created to give you a rich,
deep, instant tan. It leaves the skin
immediately bronzed, while developing a long lasting tan over eight
hours. Remember that preparation is
the key to get an even colour, so an
all over body exfoliation is a must,
which will get rid of any oil buildup from lotions and creams. This will
ensure that you get a streak-free finish. Always use a tanning mitt when
applying and sweep onto the body in
order to get an even distribution of
the product. If you want to prolong
your tan, the easy-to-travel, wrapped
tanning wipes are ideal for instant
touch-ups, while the milk and honey
body butter is specially formulated to
keep your skin nourished and moisturized.
So, the perfect body accessory this
summer is definitely the tan in a can
range by Caribbean tan which guarantees to give you a healthy, fresh
and glowing body.
Get beach ready
By RoxyK
Summer is here and it is time to indulge in a few luxuries. To really get
those chic accessories and the 70s
style block heels to look elegant and
sporty, a great beach bronzed body
look is the way to start. I took a look
at the professional self tan products
by Caribbean Tan, which by the way
is the easiest, fastest and safest way
to get an all-round beautiful glow in
preparation for summer.
There are four different selftan application methods and three
shades to choose from, so matching
your skin to the correct product ensures that the tan gives you an even
colour, does not look streaky or patch
and gives you an even coverage.
10 The Next 48hOURS
The first step is ensuring that the
entire body is clean and smooth and
that means starting with the Cinnamon & Coconut Skin Smoothing
Exfoliator, which removes dead skin
cells to create the perfect canvas for
your tan.
Remember to also exfoliate the elbows, knees and feet in order to get
full coverage and an even skin tone
on the whole body and prevent unwanted build-up of the colour. Once
you have chosen the correct colour,
you have to decide whether you want
a gradual tan or an instant tan. If
you are unsure about which colour
to use or if you are trying this for
the first time, I would suggest using
the gradual tan, which will give you a
hint of colour and just enough glow.
The clear gradual tan spray develops
over eight hours into a deep, even
tan and takes about eight minutes
to dry.
This is ideal for beginners, as you
can always top up your tan each day
to give you an added glow and moisture onto the skin. It is also easy to
use and can be applied daily, after
a shower, by simply applying in a
constant sweeping motion over the
body. The colour gradually builds up
into a golden hue to create a rich,
even glow on the skin.
The Tan In A Can Instant is slightly deeper and gives an immediate
bronze, which develops over eight
hours. This is definitely the perfect
way to enhance those parts of the
body that are on show, such as the
