WITH GREAT SIYATA DISHMAYA,
the School for Children with Hidden Intelligence was founded twenty
years ago by Rabbi Osher Eisemann. From its first five students, to
the current enrollment of over 230 students, SCHI has grown quickly, never compromising on its high standards of Special Education. In
March 2007, a new, state of the art facility opened its doors. There,
children of all ages learn to walk, speak, think for themselves and feed
themselves. Dedicated teachers and therapists put their hearts and
souls into the students. Disability is conquered through warmth, love
and joy.

Betzalel participates in
equine therapy each week by
going horseback riding. The
activity provides gait and balance training and helps him
develop postural control.
Learning to read is not easy for
anyone, especially for children
who are visually impaired. Chaim
Tzvi is now able to read using
braille, thanks to his entire team
at SCHI. Everything in his classroom is now adapted for his use,
as all words are written in both
alphabet letters and braille.
Baruch Eli used to show
much discomfort when
using his eyes. Our
highly trained vision
therapist worked tirelessly to train him to use
his eyes appropriately.
Eating and drinking was never fun for Fully, as he lacked
the skills to do so comfortably. With much consistency,
his teachers and therapists
have taught him to eat effortlessly, and to drink almost
completely on his own.
Tzvi’s d eter m inat ion is
unbelievable. He was always dependent on heavy
equipment to get around.
With the help of his devoted physical therapist, he
has mastered walking with
crutches.
