Benefit Updates - What’s New:
Benefit elec#ons will become effec#ve 9/1/2014 (elec#ons
requiring evidence of insurability, such as Life Insurance, may
have a later effec#ve date, if approved). A5er annual
enrollment closes, benefit changes can only be made within 30
days of a qualifying event.
Medical: Aetna will be the new health plan administrator and
CVS Caremark will be the new pharmacy manager.
- Ac#veCare 1 HD & Ac#veCare 2 plans are experiencing
a slight rate increase.
- TRS Ac#veCare 3 will be eliminated! Enrollees in
TRS-AC 3 will be transi#oned to TRS-AC 2 effec#ve
9/1/14 unless you select another plan op#on during
the annual enrollment period
- New Plan: Ac#veCare Select.
Cigna PPO Dental par#cipants will experience a slight rate
increase effec#ve 9/1/14.
NEW! C-FB ISD is adding a Cigna DHMO plan effec#ve 9/1/14.
DHMO par#cipants must designate a den#st.
QCD will be discon'nued effec#ve 9/1/14. Current QCD
par#cipants without the Cigna PPO plan will roll to Cigna’s
DHMO plan & you must designate a den#st to receive benefits.
If you currently have QCD but are also enrolled in Cigna’s PPO
plan, your QCD coverage will simply be removed.
If you currently par#cipate in a Health Care or Dependent
Care FSA, you MUST re-elect a new contribu#on amount
every year to con#nue to par#cipate.
If you currently have a NBS flex card, it is valid thru 8/31/14.
Current par#cipants will receive new cards to the address
listed in THEbenefitsHUB. Funds will be available on the new
card by late September.
NEW! Vision carrier will now be Superior Vision.
NEW! Disability carrier will now be The HarEord.
NEW! Basic Life with AD&D & Voluntary Life with AD&D
carrier will now be Dearborn. Your Voluntary Life now has
AD&D benefits.
If you have current voluntary life coverage you are eligible to
increase your coverage $20,000 (not to exceed the
guaranteed issue amount) without answering medical
ques#ons.
