GREETINGS MORGAN COUNTY Decatur Morgan Hospital has been meeting the health and wellness needs of those we serve for 100 years. The hospital’s earliest roots started in 1888 during the Yellow Fever epidemic and the work of the Ladies of the Benevolent Society. From their efforts, Decatur General opened in 1915. Even though the delivery of healthcare has and will continue to change, our mission has not. Caring for you is a privilege we take seriously. With the help of our physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, and volunteers, we will continue to deliver the highest quality and most compassionate health services for our community. Parkway Medical Center dates back to the Great Depression when Dr. W. P. Baugh’s medical practice became the Baugh Wiley Smith Hospital. The hospital was purchased by Hospital Affiliates, Inc. in 1969 and became Parkway Medical Center in 1974. In 2012, the two hospitals became unified as Decatur Morgan Hospital in partnership with Huntsville Hospital Health System. The hospital currently has four main locations – Decatur Campus, Parkway Campus, West Campus, and Danville Road Campus. 100 YEARS OF We hope you will join us for our 100 Year Birthday Celebration – Taking It To The Streets. Admission is free and our way of saying thank you for your past and continued support of Decatur Morgan Hospital and the Huntsville Hospital Health System. I look forward to seeing you there.
