IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Read all instructions carefully and completely to ensure proper installation. Ensure oil has
completely dried for the glue to adhere. If necessary, lay boards out on joists in sun to dry. If using
steel joists, clean off steel with a cleaner such as turps or mentholated spirits to ensure glue will
adhere.
STEP 1. Apply a lib-

row of boards onto
the joist in the
traditional way.
DeckMate clip into
the groove at the
intersection of each
joist. Install an appropriate DeckMate
screw, steel, pine or
hardwood, at a
slight angle, and
fasten securely. Do
not over tighten.
STEP 3. Insert the next row of boards onto the
DeckMate clip, using DeckMaster Clamps to
hold the board in position. As the boards fall
short of the next joist, use a DeckBone joiner to
join the board between the joists. Do not land
the butt joint on the joist.
Snap the DeckBone into two T shaped pieces
and insert first DeckBone into position
(see image). Place the following board onto the
DeckBone, insert the next DeckBone into
position to complete the butt joint.
Repeat Steps 2 & 3.
*Fix final row of boards as per the first row.
Our decking comes pre-oiled with Feast Watson Pre Coat. This is an oil based coating specially
formulated to stabilize your decking before and after installation. Your decking can be
re - coated immediately with Feast Watson Traditional Oil. Or for a longer lasting finish, a water
based coating can be applied after 4 -6 weeks. You will need to allow decking to sit for this time
before cleaning the deck with Feast Watson Deck Wash, after which water based coatings can
be applied. We recommend two coats of Intergrain Ultra Deck or Feast Watson Wet Look as a
water based finish.
