Description of Project: The scope of work for the reconstruction of the roadway malls
include the following:
• Construct a new 2’ wide Cobble Stone boarder along the inside of the curbs.
• Reconstruct damaged curbs. Place new hedges and fencing along the center of
the islands to discourage pedestrians from crossing in the middle of the block.
• Install new decorative street lighting (to replace existing)
• Augment the existing tree canopy with new trees, new lawn and ground
hydrants for irrigation.
• Provide new “Gateway” entry signage at the four main roadway entrances
into Parkchester.
