When Starwood brought 600 executives to Denver, they needed a final evening that embodied
the spirit of their conference – Elevating Food and Beverage.
Planning kicked
off six months before
showdown and began
with calls to city
officials to secure
permits.
DSC pitched an “Urban Streets Party” to be built from the ground up in a parking
lot at 20th and Wazee St., across from Coors’ Field and next to Fado’s Irish Bar.
Transforming a Blank Palette
Designs called for tenting to create the feel of indoor and outdoor spaces with a flow
from end-to-end.

A Grand Entrance
Guests
arrived in waves.
They were entertained by BMX bikers
performing aerial acrobats. It set the tone for
an exciting evening to follow.
Even corporate guests want to
take a walk on the wild side.
Denver’s Urban Street
The entire scene was custom built by a theatrical set designer. Brass piping and
faux brick walls accented bars and tables.
Video DJ Matt stirred up an eclectic mix of music through the decades. Timeless
television imagery accompanied the sound track.
Bite-size grab-and-go food
stations limited waste.
Bento boxes velcroed to walls
offered Asian salads, complete
with chopsticks.
Food torching stations
mesmerized guests.
Desserts were displayed
on ladders.
Locally owned and operated food trucks provided culturally inspired delicacies.
Beer Garden and Cigar Lounge
Guests enjoyed hand-rolled cigars.
Mingling with brew masters and whiskey-makers provided a chance to
taste and learn.
Whiskey barrel fire pits were custom built, creating ambiance and
warmth as the evening continued.
The Main Event
The event culminated on the main tent with two musical acts.
Upping
the ante
Maestro Hughes provided a one-of-a-kind
sound with his electric violin.
And international sensation One Republic brought it home with an amazing
acoustical performance.
