JUNE 6 - 8, 2013 - Steve Azar Saint Cecilia Foundation
JUN E 6 - 8, 2013
Presented by:
Hello Dear Friends,
Gwen and I want to welcome you to the second
annual Delta Soul Celebrity Golf & Charity event in my
hometown of Greenville, Mississippi. We are so happy
to have many of you back for year two and wish to
welcome those of you who are first-time participants!
We hope you have a terrific time.
To our celebrity and sponsors friends, we can't
thank you enough for sharing your time, gift of talent
and generous contributions to the St. Cecilia
Foundation. Also, a big thanks to all of our committee
members and other volunteers for putting in countless
hours day-in and day-out to make this event go off in
style! You all mean the world to us.
The participation last year paid great dividends to
the success of our inaugural event. Because of your help, the Steve Azar St. Cecilia Foundation was able
to set up a scholarship fund that awarded 10 college scholarships to one graduate from each high school
in Washington County. In addition, we placed a music and arts program at St. Joseph Catholic High
School, where three generations of my family have attended, and we created and funded a unique
career planning program at Delta State University that integrates business students with music and art
students. Foundation contributions were also made to the Greenville Arts Council, the Delta 180
Degrees program and more music and arts related organizations.
The arts are such an important part of our Delta's culture and help to cement our place in history.
Known for everything from the birthplace of America's music to the home of Jim Henson’s Muppets,
the Delta has produced a plethora of prestigious authors, poets, sculptors, painters and musicians. We
must continue to nurture the arts in our children’s lives and in the lives of future generations. I have
witnessed the progress and difference we are all making together for the Delta.
We are anticipating an even greater level of success for 2013! Over the next few days, let's all put a
little soul in our summer and celebrate together all that we are accomplishing.
Blessings,
Steve

second in two majors, the 1996 U.S. Open and the 1997 Nabisco Dinah
Shore Tournament.

first of many hip surgeries and in 2002, she was named one of 10
outstanding young Americans presented by the United States Junior
Chamber.
Tschetter’s heartwarming account of her 15-year friendship with Ben Hogan, Mr. Hogan, the Man I Knew,
was recently published to rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
She now resides in Warrenton, Virginia with her husband, Kirk Lucas, one of the top golf teachers in the
Washington DC metro area, and daughters Lainey and Kyra.

Al Wisne
The unlikely celebrity success of Detroit “car guy” and mechanical engineer
Al Wisne was no accident (although the insurance company ruled the fire and
subsequent sinking of his boat just that).
Wisne made his debut role playing a terrorized citizen in the Michigan filmed
movie, The Carrier. He was hard to recognize, most likely due to the garbage
bags over his head and body, but his acting is generally regarded as the best
part of that movie.
The year 2006 heralded his breakthrough music video performance on Steve
Azar’s, “You Don’t Know a Thing.” Al went on to establish his amateur golf
career by winning the Nationwide Pro-Am in 2006, the Monday After the
Master’s in 2010 (with Azar).
In the 2009 music video “Moo La Moo,” Steve Azar created Al’s most
challenging acting role: Al the Bartender. The script called for Al to perform feats he had never done before ...
sweeping the floor and washing and polishing glass. Although his role in the 2011 blockbuster, Hall Pass, was
changed from “young buff dude” to “Clyde, the gym owner” after he was cast. In the words of Bobby Farrelly...
“he nailed it.” Bobby didn’t say what “it” was.
