HYPACK with the Hydrographic Services
of Peru and Ecuador

On March 2011, we paid a courtesy visit to two important and experienced HYPACK® users
in Latin-America, the Direccion de Hidrografia y Navegacion of Peru (DHN) and Instituto
Oceanografico de la Armada of Ecuador (INOCAR). DHN became a HYPACK® user in 1992
and INOCAR 1989, so they have been users for 19 and 22 years respectively.
Both institutions are the responsible for the national nautical chart production and for
conducting official hydrographic surveys that are required by their countries.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen our ties, encourage them to use the newer support
capabilities in Spanish, share the company plans for the near future, hear their feedback
about what we have in the current version, and what they would like to see in the future.
While we were there, we gave a lecture about the latest HYPACK® capabilities to the
hydrographic class conducted at INOCAR for their survey crew members.
We also have to announce the incorporation of a new reseller in Ecuador, Jorge Flores from
INDUSTRIAL MARINE SERVICES, who would be helping us to commercialize our packages
in that country.
