The highlight of this year has
been the launch of the new and
remarkable ART Rotana hotel,
part of the prestigious Rotana
Group of companies, located
right here on Amwaj Islands.
Since the beginning, ART

Notable Ideas: Ibn Hawqal was a
traveler who spent much of his time
writing about the areas and things
he had seen. He spent the last 30
years of his life traveling to remote
areas of Asia and Africa. One of his
travels brought him 20 degrees
south of the equator along the East
African coast. One of the things he
noticed was that there were large
numbers of people living in areas
that the Greeks, working from logic
rather than experience, said must
be uninhabitable. His descriptions
were, at the time, considered to
be accurate and very helpful to
travellers.

Jams thrills
the island with
a weekend
to remember
of epic FMX
action
The weekend of April 3rd and 4th,
is one to remember as the best
freestyle motocross show in the
world, Red Bull X-Fighters Jams
thrilled fans who headed to Amwaj
islands to watch FMX athletes Nick
de Wit (South Africa), Martin Koren
(Czech Republic), Chris Brock (UK)
perform jaw-dropping stunts.
For two exclusive nights, the riders
left the crowd in awe while MC
Steve Sommerfeld hyped up the
attendees commenting on the
stunts and moves performed for a
full hour and a half.
Commenting on the spectacular
weekend, Red Bull athlete and
FMX athlete Nick de Wit said: “it’s
always exciting for us to perform
in front of a crowd that is watching
freestyle motocross for the first
time. The Bahraini crowd is very
familiar with motorsports, which
makes the connection with them
at another level. We thoroughly
enjoyed being in Bahrain. It’s been
amazing”

For the second year in a row,
Bahrain’s Urban Culture Week
returns to the island promising
to build on the success of the first
edition, inspire the scene, and
elevate their creative drive will
continuing to develop Urban Culture foundations.
Kicking off the cypher fever, it was held at Malja
from the 23rd of April to 2nd May 2015 and
Big Hass, Huvil, B-Boy Frankie and DJ Outlaw are
among the artists giving workshops. For the full
