There are two workshop weekends (10th – 12th June 2016 and 8th – 10th July 2016) which you MUST be

All performers wishing to audition must complete the online audition application form at the Taieri
Musicalwebsiteatwww.taierimusical.org.nz/auditionandselectanappropriateauditiontime.

All auditions will be videoed for reference during the casting process. Short extracts from successful

cast,performersmustnotcuttheirhairfollowingauditionsuntiladiscussionhasbeenhadwiththecreative

Costumesandshoeswillbeprovided.Forhygienereasons,femalecastmemberswillbeexpectedtoprovide

BOOTCAMP
Grease: The Arena Spectacular will require an exceptional level of physical fitness and performance
readiness.On-stageperformersarerequiredtoattendBootCampfrom7April-26May,threetimesa
week.SuccessfulauditioneeswillbenotifiedofBootCampdetailsfollowingthecastingannouncement.
MEMBERSHIP,CODEOFCONDUCT&SOCIALMEDIA
AllcastmemberswillberequiredtobefinancialmembersofTaieriMusicalfor2016withanannualfee
of$20.
Allcastarerequiredtoagreeandadheretoacodeofconductthatcovershealthandsafety,personalwell
being,responsibilitiestofellowcastandcrewmembers,andsocialmediausage.Allcastmembersare
requiredtocompleteamedicalquestionnaireforyoursafetyandthesafetyofthosearoundyou.This
informationwillbetreatedinstrictestconfidenceandwillbedestroyedfollowingtheproduction.
Allcastandcrewareconsideredtobegood-willambassadorsforTaieriMusicalandforourshowandwe
expectallcastandcrewtomeetthatresponsibilitybothinpersonandonline.Therewillbeaclosed

AfterbeingrejectedbythePinkLadies,Sandytriescheerleading(RydellFightSong)butdoesn'tseemtofitin
thereeither.ShebumpsintoDannyagainbutthingsareawkwardbetweenthem.
Allthekidsmeetuponthefootballfield,RogerandJangettalkingand,slowly,discovertheylikeeachotherand
havealotincommon(Mooning).Apartyatmospherefollows,asthekidscelebratetheirfriendships(WeGo
Together).
ACTTWO
It'stimefortheschooldance,everyoneispairedoffandwearingtheirfinest(Shakin'attheHighSchoolHop).
VinceFontaineishostingtheevening-muchtoMarty'sdelight.OnlySandyismissingoutonallthefun;sheis
stuckathomewithaheadcold(It’sRainingonPromNight).Thingshotupatthedance-adancecontestis
announcedandDannypairsupwithCha-Cha,atopdancer.Theygoontowinthecontest(BorntoHandJive)
althoughMissLynchdisapprovesofsomeoftheirdancemoves.AllaloneSandyfacesuptothefactthatshestill
lovesDanny(HopelesslyDevotedtoYou),howeverfutileitmaybe.
Things aren't working out too well for Frenchy either. Having left high school to train as a beautician, she is
findingthatshemaynotbecutoutforthejob-butcan'tadmitittoherfriends(BeautySchoolDropout).
SandyandDannyfinallygettogether;heborrowsKenickie'scarandtakeshertothedrive-in.Sandyisthereto
watchthemoviebutDannyhasotherthingsonhismind.Sandyisupsetwhenhetakesthingstoofarandleaves
himaloneinthecar,wonderingifhe'llevergetitright(Sandy).
Thegangallhangoutatthegaragelisteningtomusic(Rock'n'RollPartyQueen).Sandyjoinstheminthehope
thatDannywillappear.Rizzomakesitclearthatshestillisn'twelcomeamongstthem.Kenickiediscoversthat
Rizzomaybepregnantandtheyhavearow.Everyonehastilyleaves,exceptSandy,whosesympathyisrejected
byRizzo(ThereAreWorseThingsICouldDo).Sandyrealisesifshewantsthingstobedifferentthensheneeds
tomakesomechangesaboutherself(LookAtMeI'mSandraDee-reprise).
Allthekidsattheburgerbarareinforabigsurprise-especiallyDanny-whenatransformedSandyarrives,
