Weproposedasetofeducationalactivitiesattemping torelatethepositionofthestars andtheperiodicalmotionsofthesun,tosomeofthemostimportantmonumentsof theRhodesisland.Thesewouldbecombinedwithclassroompresentations,starparties andsummercampadventurestoreachouttothousandsofstudentsinthisruralareaof Greece.Theimpactofourprojectisexpectedtobeverysignificantandtriggervivid interesttofurtherexploretherelationshipbetweenastronomyandancientcultures, propagatingaframeworkofsimilareducationalactivitiesthroughoutGreece,wellknownforitsantiquitiesandastronomicalhistory. Theprojectwouldculminatewithaninternationalconferenceonarchaeoastronomy,to raiseinternationalawarenessandsupportforbuildinganastronomicalobservatoryin theareaofancientDelphitoactasalandmarkforarchaoastronomy andassociated astronomyeducationandoutreachactivities,thefirstofitskindtothebestofour knowledge.
