2 Biography
Founded in 1994 by the swiss guitarist Eugene Montenero, “bconnected” knew since its
creation, to preserve a strong identity.
In January 2013, the 8th record « MAGICAL MYSTERY WORLD » comes to confirm the
strong will of the band to be leaded towards new musical horizons…
With already 19 years of experience, the band is in its full maturity, each one being able to
feel in the direction which it wishes and with the intention to bring to the collective new
connections. Because of this opening mind towards the world, bconnected is in perpetual
evolution but keeping its roots in the tradition of the jazz music.
Their individual background is impressive and the musical assessment group is tight. The

Through the years, bconnected has evolved with intelligence and maturity by the experience
of many tours in Asia and elsewhere, collaborations with foreign artists and musicians are
naturally born !
Although the music is always inspired from jazz, it now offers a "perfect blend" of culture.

Eugene Montenero – guitars – bconnected frontman
Eugene Montenero took his first music lessons at the age of
8 years old, is only at the 13 years of age when he heared
for the first time the sound of Carlos Santana very
characteristic that falls under the absolute charm of this
instrument .
It will follow the music study for 5 years from 1985 to 1990
at School Jazz and Contemporary Music in Lausanne,
Switzerland (EJMA) with the professor Laurent Poget
In 1992 he left Switzerland and moved to Los Angeles he
attended the Musicians Institute of Technology (MIT) in the professional section of GIT
(Guitar Institute of Technology) where he studied with renowned guitarist Scott Henderson
(Chick Corea Band, Tribal Tech), Steve Trovato (Albert Lee) Ross Bolton (Al Jarreau) and
Joe Diorio. Eugene was graduated with « honor » mention.
On his return in May 1993, Eugene began his career as professional guitarist and composer
and producer, he was hired in different rock, jazz, and funk bands. He collaborated with
artists such as David Durham (Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith) Clémentine Célarié (French
actress), Nathalie Manser, Momo Soro (Prince, Selif Keita, Alpha Blondy).
But in September 1994, he decided to found his own band "bconnected. To date, the band
has been traveling through China, Thailand, South Korea, North Africa, France, Czeck
Republic giving many tours and concerts.
Eugene is an accomplished musician and also enjoyed in studios recording sessions, giving
also master class in Africa, Belgium, France and China.

Gregory German – drums
Greg is certainly one of the musicians who have more than a
talent, this young prodigy of the drum will be as young as 13
years being coached by Little Dream Foundation, founded by Phil
Collins.
In 1997, he took his first lessons to Slaeck Kaven School in
Lausanne, Switzerland. Then in 1999 he received his training with
François Bauer at EJMA of Lausanne, following the workshop
and the pianist Michael Fleiner.
4 In 2001, he joined the Little Dream Foundation. It will follow different course with drummer Yann
Uetz, Julio Baretto and Franck Giraudeau. It will also follow courses in Yamaha drum school in
Lyon, France.
In 2010, he served a period of one month at the Drummers Collective in New York with Chris
Coleman.
It works with successively with Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Ronnie Caryl, Michael Jones and
John Lee. He participated in various bands such as Little Dream Band, Julien Lawrence, Hundred
Days, Groove Convention ...

In 2003, he was invited by Yamaha to MusikMesse Frankfurt as drummer for Switzerland. He won
successively the competition for the best Swiss drummer in the competition from 2005 to 2007, 2009
and 2011.

Ivan De Luca – bass
Born February 19, 1974, Ivan De Luca become familiar with the
instrument early. In 1989 he began his studies at the ETM in
Geneva with Denis Fabrichon; 1995 to 1997 he studied with no
less known Christophe Chambet, he participated in the following
years the workshops of the AMR Geneva. From 2007 to 2008 he
continued his studies at the EJMA in Lausanne from 2008 to 2010
and the EMH (jazz section).
Ivan De Luca is considered one of the most sought after bassists
on the spot, his groove makes sparks, and he put his talents to
bands and artists such as Head in the Moon, Sueno, Dorian
Gray, Coralma, Vanessa Elle.
Frederic Babey – Keyboard & piano
He studied at the age of 6 years old classical piano and his
family moved to Lausanne in 1980. At 15, he played in
small groups (pop-rock) and played in several festivals
regional levels. In 1998, he enrolled at the JazzschuleBasel
and completed his training at the School of Jazz and
Contemporary Music (EJMA) in Lausanne in 2004. He
graduated with honors professional instrumental excellent.
He graduated from teaching at the Conservatoire de
Lausanne in 2003. He studied piano with Michel Bastet
especially in Geneva. He participated in various workshop:
François Jeanneau (Soundpainting), Popol Lavanchy (film music).

In 2007 he created the Musiquezag Workshop with Nathalie Huber and organizes concerts
and workshops for adults and children. He accompanied various choirs, makes team
building, etc..
He participated in many projects such as Active (Festival Artiphys 08), Afro Sound Spirit,
Sabor Latino-(Cully jazz festival), Frederic Babey and Friends (Chorus, Lausanne). More
recently, he was the pianist of Adelante sextet.
He recently accompanied the gospel choir ONE STEP Beausobre (Morge) with bconnected group.
Among his influences are musicians as diverse as Chick Corea, Enrico Pieranunzi, Oscar Peterson,
Antoine Hervé, Brad Mehldau.
Daniel Ciccone – percussions
He begins the percussion at the age of 12. By 1983 he
began classes at the School of Jazz and Contemporary
Music (EJMA) in Lausanne Switzerland.
Several journey to the Caribbean and South America led him
to discover the authentic look of traditional rhythms.
He continued his training with Daniel Genton then perfected
in Cuba with Tomas Ramos Ortiz "El Panga" and Santiago
Garzon Rill.
Very active musician on the music scene and internationally. Currently he is band Leader of
ADELANTE Latin Jazz Sextet, and KOSMOS (electro). He also joined the group
B.CONNECTED in 2000, with whom he recorded four albums and toured extensively
(China, Thailand, Hong - Kong, South Korea, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Tunisia,
Algeria, Switzerland).
He participates with YOUNG GODS "Play Woodstock" with Erika Stucki, and Richie
Havens (the legend of Woodstock FREEDOM to the City of Music in Paris) concerts in
France, Portugal and Switzerland.
He has recorded with SENS UNIK "ABRACADABRA". He won a DIESEL-U-Music Awards
2004 (Dance category) M4 Music in Zurich in the group with Reasons "I want you around",
and a second that year with the group MO'BOP "Trust" (URBAN category). Recording with
DJ Ripperton "NIWA" cd (limited edition 3 LP) record label Green Perperctiv wordlwide.
Since 2011, he played with Licia Cherry (My Major Company) WARNER Music.
6 Philippe Sellam – saxophone
Philippe Sellam was born on the 24 of October in 1960 in
Alger, Algeria. Living in Paris, France

saxophone, baryton saxophone, soprano saxophone;
Played with : Michel Petruciani, Paco Sery group (joe zawinul’s drummer), Michel Portal,
Roy Hargrove, Andy Emler, Mino Cinelu, Glenn Ferris, Maraca (irakere), Omar Sosa,
François Jeanneau, Chico Freeman, Lumière Big Band feat. Gil Evans, John Scofield,
Europeen radio orchestra in 1991 and 1997,French National Jazz Orchestra, MC Solaar,
Henry Salvador, Charles Aznavour, Claude Nougaro, Mangu, Wally Badarou...
Tours in Europe, Africa, Caribes, in North and South América.
He has created music for many TV and radio credits and advertisements as well as run many
workshops and master classes.
Recorded more than 70 albums.
Co-leader of NOJAZZ band whose first album was producted by Teo Macero (producer of
Miles Davis ), the second album featuring Stevie Wonder, Maurice White (Earth Wind and
Fire), Mino Cinelu…

The Shanghai Jazz Festival will open at Century Park, where bands and singers from home
and abroad will perform from 1 pm to late in the night today and tomorrow.
Forty-six international performers from South Africa, Japan, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark,
Brazil and Cuba present jazz, blues, funk, reggae, folk, rock and electronic music.
Bconnected, a band from Switzerland founded by guitarist Eugene Montenero in 1994,
is expected to be one of the highlights. The band will perform from 6:20 pm to 7:20 pm
today. This is part of the band's China tour sponsored by Titoni, a Swiss watch company.

1994年9月，吉他手尤金﹒蒙特纳罗（
Eugene Montenero）与萨克斯手莫莱诺﹒赫米（Moreno Helmy）创建了现代电声爵士乐队——B.
Connected（“联合”乐队）。“联合”（B. Connected也可写为“Be Connected”）就是用音乐把不同的思想
、概念融合为一。不久，有另5位成员加入乐队，他们有着不同的视野，在作曲和配器上有各自的独特
风格，但正如乐队名称显示的，乐队成功融合了美国西海岸爵士中的轻音乐风格和东海岸纽约的爵士风
10 格，调理出新的味道。 1996年，“联合”乐队在瑞士出版了自己的第一张唱片《SOS！不要回来》（
SOS Stop Return），取得轰动效应。不到一年半的时间，他们又推出了第二张专集《十字路口》（
Intersection）。七位音乐家对音乐的执着和不懈的努力被欧洲众多的爵士乐迷认可，不断接到世界各大
爵士音乐节的邀请函。从欧洲到亚洲，从Montreux音乐节到Tabarka爵士音乐节，发表了六张专辑的“联
合”乐队开始在全球范围内传播自己的音乐理念。十几年的勤奋工作、巡回演出与音乐会，使乐队音乐
逐步成熟，他们的音乐信念也更加坚定。 2007年11月，乐队推出了专辑 “Tabula Rasa”，介绍了亚洲和
北美洲的音乐，表达了乐队要向新的音乐领域进军的愿望。
经过十几年的磨练，乐队已经全面进入
成熟期。每个成员都目标一致，立志将乐队发展为一支综合型的乐队。正因为有着面向世界的开放意识
，bconnected才能不断进取，与此同时依然没放弃爵士的传统。
bconnected的每个成员都有着深
厚的音乐造诣，而且对音乐抱着严谨认真的态度。七张专辑见证了他们建团十四年的完美音乐轨迹。从
1999年至2007年，乐团赴亚洲（中国、泰国、韩国等）进行巡演，演出遍布世界各地，从洛桑到上海
都留下了他们的足迹。乐队还参加过许多知名艺术节，例如：蒙特勒爵士艺术节、塔巴卡爵士艺术节、
