The KOHLER kitchen sink range is designed in a variety of
materials, styles, sizes and colours so you can rest assured there

KOHLER kitchen sinks are available in a range of installation styles:
Undercounter: The sink is mounted beneath the work surface.
Inset: The sink is mounted directly into the work surface.
Sit on: Sits on the cabinet.
Apron front: A unique installation, usually requires fitting into
kitchen units.
Tile-in: These sinks have flat edges and square corners to
fit flush with a tiled surface.
Waste Disposals
All of our sinks except Jumbo™ and Rustique™
will accept a waste disposal unit.

In many of the brassware ranges you are able to choose from
a number of finish options. Vibrant PVD brassware finishes
by Kohler are ideally suited for customers who want beautiful,
lustrous, authentic-looking finishes. The Physical Vapour
Deposition (PVD) process bonds the finish colour to the tap to
resist scratches, corrosion and tarnishing. These rich finishes are
manufactured to such high specifications they actually exceed

Functional Planning
When planning changes to your kitchen sink, it is important to select the right products according
to your specific needs and lifestyle.
Whether you use your kitchen sink
and brassware for food preparation or
for simply washing dishes, there are a
number of factors that you might want to
consider before making your decision.
How will the sink be used?
You should select the size of the sink
based on its intended use: washing
dishes, food preparation, etc.
If you have a dishwasher, you may
prefer a large bowl to allow for the
washing up of pots and pans. This
is especially true if you have a range
cooker that uses larger cookware.
Or, if you wash your dishes by hand or
prepare a lot of food, it is often helpful to
have a double or triple bowl to allow for
rinsing and draining.
Making the right brassware choice
can also help with washing and
rinsing of dishes. Why not choose
brassware with integrated flexible
sprayheads to make cleaning easier.
How much worktop/cupboard
space do you have?
Many of our double or triple basin
sinks can also be converted to
become a waste disposal.
The size of sink you select will
be ultimately determined by the
space you have to work with.
Is there often more than one chef
in the kitchen or will the kitchen
be seen when entertaining?
Kohler offers a wide range of kitchen
sinks to suit both new and refurbishment
projects including compact models
for use in limited space.
If you answered “yes” to either of these
questions, then consider building a
second smaller kitchen sink into
your plans.
A second sink can enhance efficiency
in the kitchen as it allows two people to
work in the same space, reducing food
preparation and washing up times.
Why not make a style statement by
choosing a smaller complementary sink
inset into an island unit to enhance the
total design appeal of your kitchen.
If you are just replacing the sink
in your kitchen take a note of your
existing worktop surface. Unless
your replacement sink is exactly the
same size, you may need to replace
your worktop as well as your sink.
When worktop space is particularly
limited, consider selecting a cutting
board which rests on top of your
second sink bowl to increase
your food preparation space.

Kitchen Brassware
Bar – A measurement of water pressure
(0.1 bar equates to a height of 1 metre between
the bottom of the storage tank and the tap/outlet).
Ceramic Disc Valves – Ceramic disc valves
are resistant to debris and hard water.
The ceramic discs are made of a diamond
hard ceramic surface and come in either

/ turn, 1/2 turn or single-lever options.
Deck-Mount Tap – Mounted on the basin or
bath (as opposed to being wall-mounted).
Flexible Connections – Metal braided
hoses connect the tap quickly and easily
to existing pipework and give greater
flexibility over normal rigid copper tails.
Half Turn – Full operation of the valve
by turning the handle 180 degrees.
Monobloc mixer – A one-piece fitting with
one or two handles. Hot and cold water are
mixed and delivered through a single spout.
Low Pressure – The majority of households in
the UK are fed by a low pressure gravity system.
Typically the header tank in the loft will be
approximately 2 meters above a bathroom sink
tap which equates to 0.2 bar (1m = 0.1 bar).
Please note it is important that this
measurement is taken from the base of the
header tank to the outlet, e.g. sink tap. In the
case of a shower, the measurement is to the
showerhead itself and not the shower valve.
PVD – Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD)
is a molecular bonding process that
creates a surface with a high resistance to
scratching, corrosion and tarnishing.
Quarter Turn – Full operation of the valve
by turning the handle 90 degrees.
Single-Lever – Monobloc mixers with
an easy to use lever handle that controls
both flow rate and temperature.
Top Fit – Fitting system for easy
installation and tightening from above the
sink. The tap is fitted using an allen key
(supplied) via the pop up waste hole.
Kitchen taps if installed on the ground floor
of a two storey house with a gravity system
will typically have a height of 5m between
the tap and the header tank in the loft
which equates to approximately 0.5 bar.

High Pressure – The majority of new houses in the
UK now use high pressure hot water systems. This
is achieved using either a combi-boiler or some
form of pressurised system (typically a “megaflow”)
which delivers hot water pressures above 0.8 bar.

Undercounter – Undercounter sinks are
installed beneath natural surfaces such as
granite and stone. They cannot be used with
laminate or melamine worktop surfaces.
