Accessing Your Mailbox You will know you have new messages when you pick up your phone and hear a stutter dial-tone or, if your phone is equipped, the message waiting light will be on. Accessing Your Voice Mail Dial the voice mail system number. (The exchange plus 0000. Ex.: 342-0000.) • Press # - If calling from the phone line your voice mail is assigned to, or • Direct dial your phone number. Press the * key during the greeting, or • If using Auto Login and accessing from your home, no entry is required. • Enter your password followed by the # key. Mailbox Set-Up Press 9 at the main menu to get to the Set-Up Menu. You will have five options in the mailbox Set-Up Menu: • Greeting Options, press 1 (If you would like to use the default greeting, disregard this step.) • Change Password (security code), press 2 • Edit Notification options, press 3 • Enable/Disable Auto-Login, press 4 • Return to Main Mailbox, press * To Record or Change Your Greeting: (Set-Up Menu Option 1) • Record Greeting, press 4 • End Recording, press # • Listen to Greeting, press 1 • Save Greeting, press 2 (Greeting must be saved to be activated) • Delete Greeting, press 3 • Re-record Greeting, press 4 (Then follow above steps again) • Return to Main Mailbox, press * To Change Your Password (Security Code): (Set-Up Menu Option 2) • Enter your new password followed by the # key (up to 16 numbers). • The system will then ask you to re-enter your password followed by the # key. The system WILL NOT announce your password, please make note of what your password is and dial carefully. Remote Mailbox Access This option will ring the phone at your home or office. • Direct dial your phone number. • Press the * key during the greeting. • Enter your password followed by the # key. To check your voice mail without ringing the phone at your home or office: • Dial the voice mail system number. • Enter your phone number followed by the # key. • During the greeting, press the * key. Date and Time • Enter your mailbox. • Press 7 at the main menu. The current system time and date will be announced. Retrieving Messages • Enter your mailbox. • Press 1 to retrieve your messages. • Press 1 for new messages. (Note: new messages are only kept on the system for 31 days.) • Press 2 for saved messages. (Note: New messages are only kept on the system for 61 days.) • Press * to return to the main menu. Key Options: • • • • • • • • • Play or replay message, press 1 Save message and go to the next, press 2 Delete message and go to next, press 3 Save message as new, press 4 Forward message, press 6 Skip back three (3) seconds, press 7 Pause or continue message, press 8 Skip forward three (3), press 9 Return to the main menu, press * Call Forwarding Options There are three types of Call Forwarding options on your line that come with the voice mail service. These forwarding options can be changed by you. Please refer to the directions listed in the “Arvig Telephone Directory” for instructions. Call Forwarding No Answer Forwards the call to voice mail after four rings. (Ring count can be changed from two to nine rings.) Call Forwarding Busy Access your messages from anywhere! Forwards the call to voice mail if the line is busy. If you have Call Waiting and choose not to answer the Call Waiting tone, the caller will get your voice mail after four rings. Call Forwarding All Calls Forwards all calls directly to voice mail. This feature needs to be activated to use.
