In 1946 Andrew Martin, the founder of Calmar, had a deceptively simple vision. He wanted to replace expensive and inefficient metal pumps with inexpensive, durable, consumer-friendly, all-plastic models. Since that early inspiration, Calmar has maintained its position of industry leadership, setting the standard for quality and innovation. International Resources To Serve You Better In 1998, Calmar joined with Saint-Gobain, one of the one-hundred largest corporations in the world with 172,000 employees operating in 46 countries. The backing of this international leader in glass, high performance materials and housing products has enabled us to expand our capacity and spur innovations in our trigger, fine mist, dispenser and pharmaceutical product lines. Through our extensive network of manufacturing and assembly facilities, field sales offices, international licensees and authorized distributors, SaintGobain Calmar has a global reach with a breadth of product offerings that is unrivaled in the industry. The participants set up great displays, product samplings and detailed literature on hundreds of items needed in our industry. Thank you again for all who participated. Due to many SPE members’ social calendar being filled, your Board of Directors has moved to cancel the December 3, 2005 Social Night at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Perhaps this is an event we can re-schedule in 2006. Up Coming Events The Miami Valley SPE is kicking-off the New Year’s meetings with a tour of Calmar Inc. The tour is scheduled for the evening of January 12, 2006, at their Washington Court House location. I highly recommend attending the tour of this global company’s operation for molding pump dispensers. Please see the MVSPE website and watch for announcement cards in the mail regarding more information on this upcoming event. I look forward to seeing you in the New Year at Calmar.
