With the rapidly growing Indonesian economy, there is great demand for people

TO UPH
UPH is located at Lippo Village, which has gained worldwide
recognition as a thriving hub of excellence where its briskly growing
population of local and international students can get the best of
both study and leisure.
Lippo Village Township, established in 1993, is built on 3.000
acres of land. The village is home to more than 50.000 residents
and provides employment for over 47.000 workers in retail, health
care, hospitality, and educational fields. The Village community
provides a pleasant environment for 15.000 students. ranging from
elementary to university level. It is a place where English is used in
daily interaction both inside and outside the classroom.

Learning approach
There is an emphasis in RMIT’s programs on understanding both
business theory and practice. Students will learn within a structure
of lectures and tutorials, using case studies and assignments
based on the operations of real organisations.
Simulations, class presentations and in-class discussions are
designed to ensure that students develop personal qualities
including clear thinking and resourcefulness, and professional
skills to enable them to work in a team and perform under

UPH ALUMNI
Alumni are always upbeat because many UPH graduates return as
budding entrepreneurs and professionals. The Alumni Association
has a young history, but its future looks bright. The UPH alumni
body has 7.000 members, who are engaged in emerging markets
around the globe. The UPH Business Club is one of the alumni
organizations, founded in 2007, to provide a network for business
professionals from CEOs and directors to business owners and
other professionals.
Alumni gatherings are at the heart of the University’s vision for
networking. UPH Alumni also contribute actively in campus life by
encouraging UPH students through guest lectures and mentorship
programs. Through many campus activities such as regular
meetings and career talks, alumni and students form a strong

Duration: 3 years full-time
Business operates in a dynamic world that is facing new
and increasing challenges. UPH and RMIT are proud to offer
an innovative, industry-relevant and unique program to
prepare business leaders and professionals in a globalised
economy.
The curriculum is based on international standard
curriculum with industry-driven course content. It is
supported by professional and highly qualified teaching
staff and up-to-date learning and teaching technology.

Objectives
The degree includes specialised studies in contemporary
management providing a strong foundation for students to
exercise ethical judgement while prioritising financial, marketing
and human resources tasks across a variety of organisational
structures in their chosen career. Students will learn to deal with
complex issues, lead teams and make sound business decisions
that consider the local impact of global changes to markets and
business practices.
Outcomes
Graduates will emerge from this program with the ability to think
critically about management and organisational issues, and
to analyse and explain the social, political, environmental and
economic contexts within which decisions are made.
Graduates will be competent in working collaboratively,
communicating complex ideas and applying ethical approaches
to decision-making. They can expect to be employed in a range
of professional, commercial, industrial and not-for-profit
organisations. With appropriate experience, graduates can expect
to advance to management positions.

The Joint Degree incorporates 3 awards:
• RMIT Diploma of Commerce
• RMIT Bachelor of Business (Management)
• UPH Sarjana Ekonomi.
Students who successfully complete Year One of the Joint Degree
will be eligible for the RMIT Diploma of Commerce and will
articulate to Year Two of the Bachelor of Business (Management).
Upon successful completion of all academic requirements,
students will be eligible to receive a Bachelor of Business
(Management) from RMIT University and Sarjana Ekonomi from
Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). RMIT Bachelor of Business
programs are fully accredited Australian undergraduate university
degrees.

Duration: 3 years full-time
Globalised companies understand the need
to build dynamic brands — putting marketing
at the heart of good business practice.
Students learn the practical application of marketing
strategies and techniques, the management of a firm’s
marketing resources and activities, and the integration of
all major components of marketing strategy.
They will also learn how to influence the level, timing and
composition of customer demand in a manner that will
enhance profitability and standing within the marketplace.

Objectives
Marketing involves identifying customer needs and wants, creating
strategies for the development and design of goods and services,
and making decisions about pricing, promotion and distribution.
Blending practical theory with modern, industry-based learning,
this program prepares students for a career in the dynamic world
of marketing. Students will develop skills across a broad range of
business areas, while specialising in marketing activities such as
brand and product management, market research, advertising,
business development and promotion.
Students will gain a thorough theoretical appreciation of the
marketing discipline, as well as specific practical skills and
knowledge that will be of immediate value and application.
Outcomes
Marketing is a dynamic and expanding area. Organisations
recognise that specialist knowledge and skills are needed
to successfully market their products. Marketers need to be
analytical, creative, flexible, enthusiastic and disciplined when
approaching practical and theoretical problems and managing the
expectations of stakeholders. They also need to perform effectively
as an individual and as a team member in diverse organisations
and communities.
A wide variety of employment opportunities are available in
small, medium and large organisations in the private and public
sectors. Graduates may commence a marketing career in
business-to-business marketing, direct marketing, e-commerce
and e-marketing, market research, marketing communication,
marketing information systems, product management, retailing,
sales, advertising and public relations.

Duration: 3 years full-time
Opportunities for accountants have expanded rapidly over
the past three decades. Today the profession is high profile,
exciting and stimulating, with top accountants viewed as
leaders in business and industry as well as private practice.
In addition to the fundamental training in accounting,
students will learn to become valued professionals able to
run substantial businesses, start exciting entrepreneurial
endeavours, and develop private practices that handle
much more than tax returns. Students will also learn to
create financial plans that lead to secure futures and to
educate and advise individuals and corporations in areas
that have a powerful impact on tomorrow’s business
environment, such as assurance services.

Objectives
Accounting is the process of identifying, measuring, analysing
and communicating economic information so that people can
make informed judgements. Accountancy involves the systematic
recording, reporting and analysis of financial transactions.
Studying accounting gives students the tools to understand how
and why key business decisions are made, and how to have input
into those decisions.
This program provides stimulating and rigorous studies in the
core areas of business and accountancy. Students will develop
capabilities to be able to apply that knowledge to operate
effectively in contemporary business and multidisciplinary
environments. Throughout the program, the application of
accounting and business-related knowledge will be guided by
ethical, environmental, cultural and social considerations.
Outcomes
The accountancy degree provides a business qualification
that enables graduates to advance in a variety of careers. This
might include positions in public accounting, auditing, taxation,
management consulting, business services and receivership.
Others may be recruited into commercial and government
organisations in treasury, internal audit, strategic business
planning, financial reporting and management accounting roles.
Accountancy graduates from RMIT have consistently found
employment or have enhanced their existing careers after
completing their degree. Employment opportunities span a variety
of roles in many different settings, including:
• reporting to senior management on the resources of an
organisation
• monitoring the cash flow of an organisation
• advising businesses on strategies for increased profit
• providing financial advice
• preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts and
maintaining registers and records
• evaluating business plans
• refining financial systems
• providing taxation advice
• running a small business.

The Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) is accredited by CPA
Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and
the Institute of Public Accountants. Graduates of the Bachelor
of Business (Accountancy) are entitled to become associate
members of all three bodies. Students must then undertake the
chosen professional body’s qualification program and attain three
years’ relevant practical experience to gain full membership.
In addition, graduates may choose to apply for entry into the final
stages of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
qualification program if they intend to live and work in countries
such as China, Hong Kong, Malaysia or Singapore.

UPH’s Communication Department is fully supported by
a team of expert lecturers who hold Masters and Doctoral

Communication) and Sarjana Ilmu Komunikasi Joint Degree Program
Duration: 3 years full-time
Objectives
This program offers a generalist communications degree
incorporating courses in Journalism and Media as well as
specialist study in Advertising and Public Relations. The degree
integrates professional practice with theoretical frameworks. It
encourages creative and critical thinking, and offers diversity in
the teaching and learning approaches. Will develop a grounding
in journalism, media production and public relations, and will
acquire a broad range of skills to enter any number of professional
communications fields.
On completion of the program will be with broad knowledge of
the media and communications industries. Will be able to analyse
issues, communicate informed ideas, and apply independent
judgement to problems within a communications context.

Graduate outcomes
Graduates in this program can expect to work in professional
roles, both local and international, in a variety of areas such as
communication consultancies, journalism, broadcast and online

The Joint Degree incorporates 3 awards:
• RMIT Diploma of Media and Communication
• RMIT Bachelor of Communication (Professional
Communication)
• UPH Sarjana Ilmu Komunikasi.
Students who successfully complete Year One will be eligible
for the RMIT Diploma of Media and Communication award and
will articulate to Year Two of the Bachelor of Communication
(Professional Communication).
Upon successful completion of all academic requirements,
students will be eligible to receive the Bachelor of Communication
(Professional Communication) from RMIT University and UPH
Sarjana Ilmu Komunikasi from Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH).
RMIT Bachelor of Communication program is a fully accredited
Australian undergraduate university degrees.
Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication)
graduates may apply for entry into the following School of Media
