Connecting People Who Care
with Causes that Matter
Charlotte Community
Foundation, Inc. (CCF) is an
independent, tax-exempt
public charity as described in
sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)
(1) of the Internal Revenue
Code, created by and for
the people of Charlotte
County, FL.
We enable people with
philanthropic interests to
support the issues they care
about, easily and effectively.
We build permanent funds
through gifts from donors,
and from those funds, we
make grants to address a
wide variety of current and
long-term needs in the
community. Our mission is to
connect people who care
with causes that matter.
Charlotte County Foundation
was established in 1995 with
assets from the Adventist
Hospital Foundation after the
Adventist Hospital was sold
and became the Charlotte
Regional Medical Center.
In 2004, the Foundation
expanded its mission and
became Charlotte
Community Foundation.
Since 1995, Charlotte
Community Foundation has
awarded more than five
million dollars in grants and
scholarships.

2015 Annual Report
Greetings and Happy New Year!
January is traditionally a time for reflection, and resolutions of
change. We want to be better and do more, as individuals, as a
community, and as a society. Yet change can be so tough. It
requires energy, commitment, perseverance, and a clear vision for
success. And all too often, we don’t see tangible results quickly
enough, and we lose our momentum. Perhaps what we need to
remind ourselves is that change happens one person, one day, and
one step at a time. We must, as individuals, “be the change”
because when we are, that changes everything.
And speaking of change, there’s lots of great change
happening at Charlotte Community Foundation! In early 2015, we
developed a bold new three-year strategic plan. Thanks to our
generous donors, we awarded $571,049 in grants and scholarships.
More than 230 nonprofit organizations utilized meeting space at our
facility at no charge. And in October, we celebrated the arrival of
our new tenant and community partner TEAM Punta Gorda, who
relocated their offices into our downtown building.
We are proud to be Charlotte County’s local community
foundation, dedicated to providing exceptional donor services,
relevant information on local needs and issues, and a range of
opportunities for people to give back and create real social change
in Charlotte County. You can make a difference, and we are here
to help you do it. Connecting people who care with causes that
matter. Be the change!
With kind regards,
Julia Steele
