BIG D & BUBBA
Big D and Bubba have been working in radio since they were in high school. Big D began radio at age 14, at a 1000-‐wa= Chris?an radio sta?on, WATX-‐AM in Cookeville, Tennessee. At this sta?on, he hosted his first talk show at the tender age of 17, interviewing local southern gospel groups. From there he went to mornings on WKXD-‐FM (Oldies) in Cookeville, Tennessee. Big D’s first country radio experience came when he spent three years in Big Sky Country at KIDX-‐
FM in Billings, Montana. It was here that he fell in love with both the music and the country lifestyle. By mixing good country fun with community service events, he earned two pres?gious awards, “Best Morning Show in the State of Montana” by the Montana Broadcasters Associa?on, and “Best New Morning Show” by The Heart Of Billings Magazine. In Billings, Big D met his wife Kathy. Big D then moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to do mornings on WXCT-‐FM (Country). It was there that he met Bubba... Bubba became a disc jockey at a country music radio sta?on in his hometown of Houma, Louisiana. He then learned that the world was actually bigger than this small oil and fishing town in the swamps, so he spent the next few years traveling to work in far away places like Guam and Tokyo working at Top 40 music sta?ons. He used these jobs to see parts of Asia, Australia, and the Islands of the South Pacific. Bubba eventually got homesick and returned to the United States and ended up working in Saginaw and Detroit, Michigan (Top 40). From there he went to El Paso, Texas (Top 40), Reno, Nevada (Country), Miami, Florida (Talk Radio), and New Orleans (Top 40) and finally to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was in Baton Rouge that he met and married his wife Stacey. And also it was here that he met and teamed up with Big D... Big D

BIG D & BUBBA
Big D and Bubba immediately hit it off, both on and off the air, and quickly became known for their comedic talents. Aaer huge success the two decided to leave the radio sta?on, and were immediately hired to work at cross-‐town rival WYNK-‐FM (Country). It was there, in 1999, that they hired Execu?ve Producer and sidekick, Patrick Thomas. Patrick has been in radio since he was 16 and has been part of the Big D and Bubba show since he was 20. This is basically the only thing he knows how to do. The show made a big move in 2003 when they moved to Nashville to do their show from a custom-‐built studio at WSIX-‐FM. Being in Music City gives the show be=er access to the country music industry. Big D and Bubba began syndica?ng their show on their own in 1999. In 2005, they signed a syndica?on agreement with Premiere Radio Networks. That gave them an even greater opportunity to expand their show to other ci?es throughout North America. In 2011, Big D and Bubba debuted their program on the American Forces Radio Network. They consider this their single greatest accomplishment and are honored to entertain troops in 177 countries around the world and on all U.S. ships at sea. In January 2014, Big D and Bubba started the latest chapter of their broadcas?ng careers. They lea Premiere Networks to start their own company, Silverfish Media. Through their partnership with Compass Media Networks, they are handling morning drive on over 50 sta?ons owned by 45 different owners. That level of ownership diversity is almost unheard of in today’s corporate radio landscape. Big D and Bubba aim to entertain with a family-‐oriented broadcast. The good thing is that you never know what to expect next from these two guys... It’s like eavesdropping on your brother and his best friend ge7ng in and out of trouble. BIG D & BUBBA
CHARITY On Veteran’s Day 2014, for the second year in a row, Big D and Bubba dedicated their enDre show to our naDon’s veterans. They raised over $10,000 for the VFW and were awarded a Special AppreciaDon Award by the Adjutant General of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jerry Newberry, Assistant Adjutant General of the VFW, states “We at the VFW are deeply appreciaDve to Big D and Bubba and their enDre crew for their dedicated efforts and assistance in our endeavor to serve our naDon's heroes. They've earned our graDtude and respect for their willingness to step up and demonstrate their commitment to our veterans and their families.” Big D and Bubba are very involved in the St. Jude Country Cares program and they also serve on their advisory board. Since 2004, Big D and Bubba have raised more than $4.6 million for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This is just the amount raised while Big D and Bubba were on the air. In total, their affiliates have raised more than $9 million during that Dme. According to KaDe Evans, Associate Director for ALSAC / St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ”The total is nothing short of AMAZING!” She also noted that Big D and Bubba were “responsible for raising nearly 50% of the total tote board” from the affiliate radiothons. In addiDon to St. Jude, Big D and Bubba have also done customized shows for Children’s Miracle Network. They have parDcipated in radiothons for CMN for the last 14 years. BIG D & BUBBA
