Faith Ranch Horse Auction!
April 24, 2004
See! The winter
is past; the rains
are over and
gone. Flowers
appear on the
earth; the season of singing
has come, the
cooing of doves
is heard in our
land.

The Faith Ranch Horse Auction will be held on
Saturday, April 24th at 10:00 AM. In addition to
horses, items will be available from different
horse-related vendors. The horses range from
yearlings to 9 years old. The younger ones are
halter broken and have been handled since birth.
The older ones are 4 or older and have all been
started under saddle but are for experienced
riders only. Several are registered buckskin
quarter horses. Our horses would make good 4H
prospects to purchase.
Lunch will be available. Bring the whole
family!

From the Director’s Desk…
These are probably the most
difficult times to raise children in the
history of our Nation. We have judges
who are ruling against the supreme
laws of God and defying Biblical
standards and principles of Godly living.
Too many children and young people
are being exposed to filth and
immorality on T.V., the newsstands and
advertising. One never knows when our
children may come in contact with a
person with “a depraved mind who has
unnatural relations men with men and
women with women.” We have more
and more obese children and teens
from too much junk food and not
enough exercise. And now they tell us
that too much time in front of computers
can be very detrimental to young people
(and adults).
Thirty two years ago the Lord
revealed to me that in the future there

was going to be a much greater need for
places like Marmon Valley Farms (our
original camp), with a lot of animals and
God’s beautiful natural creation in
abundance to overcome stress, anxiety
and problems of city life. That is when Aunt
Phyllis and I established Faith Ranch,
under God’s direction. That “great need” is
now here. FAITH RANCH IS A SAFE
HAVEN, not only from foreign terrorists but
also from ungodly wickedness in our own
nation and sometimes even from our self
inflicted problems.
I urge you to refer your friends,
neighbors, relatives, and church groups,
school groups, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts
and other special groups to benefits from
our various programs. We have been
blessed in knowing that thousands of lives
have been changed for the better and we
desire to see many, many more in the
future.
Oh, and don’t forget birthday
parties, Sunday church and church picnics,
Training Horses
When we first start training horses they
don’t know what we want. They need to
learn what we want so they may become
useful. In the same way, we need to
understand what God wants if we want to
be useful to Him.
Linda and Wild Bill have been busy
training horses so they may be useful to us
and to all the riders who come. George, a
native of Texas, has been working with
Doc and Lisa (a Purcheran and Belgium
Draft). George has been training horses
since he was 12 years old! He rode in a
rodeo every weekend. He rode bareback
Broncs and was nicknamed “Bronc Rider”.
Lots of wildlife have been spotted: fox, wild
turkey, pheasant, possum, deer, red-tailed hawk,
etc. The ranch is coming alive everywhere and
many people are coming out to ride and enjoy
the weather.
All of God’s creation is coming alive. Are you,
God’s precious creation, being transformed and
living life to your fullest?
If so, are you
experiencing that overflow of life that the Lord
has provided for you? It is God’s will that we
have that abundant life on a daily basis!
If you’re not experiencing the abundant life,
maybe there is an issue of the heart that you
need to deal with.
Do you still harbor
unforgiveness? Are the cares of this world
weighing you down? Are there other things in
your life beside God that seem more important?
God wants to release you and set you free!
Ask the Lord in your quiet times to reveal to you
the issues He wants to take care of, so that you
can be released to live in the abundance that He
has provided for you.
Those who have accepted Christ
into their life don’t need to ask for
more of Christ, they need to let Christ
have more of them.
George training Doc and Lisa to drive.
David Gladieux has joined our team now,
coming to us from the Columbus office of
Habitat for Humanity. He was the Construction
Volunteer Manager there, so we are blessed
that he is now coming to do the same for our
new dining/multipurpose building. From Dave’s
assessment, if all our ducks are in a row, we
should be seeing the foundation started near
the end of May or beginning of June. His other
skills will help us to keep on top of our other
projects and we look forward to having various
work teams come and help us so that we,
together, can bring Glory to the King of Kings.
If you’d like to help with this important
project, especially if you have specific skills,
contact Dave here at the Ranch offices. We
need your help!
CREATURE PROFILE: Pot-Belly Pigs
By Jesiah Wurtz
Last month, a visitor came to the
ranch and saw Bubba, the Pot-Bellied pig.
She was worried, seeing that Bubba had a
bulging belly that was nearly dragging on
the ground. So I thought that I would clarify
something. It is typical of Pot-Belly pigs to
have a rotund belly, which sometimes will
drag on the ground.
Pot-Bellies also like to have a large
area to exercise. Bubba has followed at my
heels for mile-long or longer hikes, and is
always eager to go further. One reason
may be that Bubba eats a lot. Most pigs
should eat no more than four pounds a day,
including a quart of corn which provides
nutrients that his other food doesn’t have.
Pot-Bellied pigs also tend to foam at the
mouth a lot. They also love to root around
with their snouts, and can become
depressed when they are unable to do so.
Pot-bellied pigs are very intelligent.
Bubba even speaks Pig Latin. Well, he does
communicate with joyful snorts!
Next time you visit the ranch, come
for a walk with Bubba!

Come and enjoy our annual celebration of activities. It’s a time to
renew relationships with friends,
make new ones, and find renewal

New this Summer ~ Archery Camp
Have you ever wanted to be an excellent marksman with the bow? Well, now is your opportunity. We will be having our very first Archery
Camp in conjunction with the Christian Bowhunters of America (CBA).
Faith Ranch is planning to establish a CBA Chapter and we hope the archery camp will become a
role model for other camps and help us to improve our archery program for our guests.
Archery week this year will be July 11-17th.

not.
