Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: What has become very
clear, now that I finally have time to think, is how blessed I was, and
we all were, to have been raised in Waco, Texas in the 50s and 60s.
We knew kind neighbors, caring teachers, loving families, and hard
working people that were dependable, honest, and humble. We
knew safety and security (even as we practiced "duck and cover"
drills in elementary school), some great coaches with remarkable
senses of humor, and an occasional weird bird. So, to all my
wonderful classmates--Thank you! The world needs more of you
Biography / Memorable Life Experiences: My husband J.P. & I
met when I was a senior at Baylor. We married after I graduated;
J.P. was in BU Law School. Although J.P. had offers in other areas
we stayed in Waco to be close to family. I practiced as a CPA - first
in public accounting, then as Comptroller of a family business, &
finally in the financial sector. I retired last year. I was fortunate to
work in part-time positions which let me enjoy time with our 2
children. We have 1 grandchild who is 10; she & our children are a
joy. I like to travel, read, spend time with family & friends, volunteer,
& participate in club activities.
